Water Polo Moments

"Novelty Ball"

It was cold and windy but that didn't stop me from having a water polo tournament. I knew we had three games to play and only hoped that we would win them all. When I approach the high school and get out of my car. I head over to the pool deck to start my first game.  After 45 mins, the ref blew his whistle to call say it was over. My team and I looked at the scoreboard and realized we won 8-3. My team mates and I hopped out of the pool to and went over to Coach Todd to talk about what we did wrong and right. While waiting in between our first and second game. One of my team mates, Aiden nicknamed Net, reaches into his bag and grabs a tennis ball. We all decide that we should go to a near by wall and play a game of "butts up". I have never played before so I watch from the side just drinking my Gatorade. After they finish one game of "butts up" , I place my drink down to ask if we should create a new game for all of us to play. The boys on my team agreed so we started getting ideas. We eventually came up with a new game that we called "three walls". While I'm playing a game, my team mate ,Craig who we call Chewy, grabs my Gatorade and chucks it at the wall.  As he chucks my half full Gatorade bottle he yells the words, "Novelty ball".  As I watch my perfectly good Gatorade explode with the drink rushing out of it. I could hear the rest of my team laughing including Craig. I couldn't resist and started laughing too.  Also if you're wondering, my team won our other two games and we were the undefeated team.
