"C'mon, Evelyn, you have to quit being so upset", Tyler pouts at me. I step out of the baggage claim area and packed my suit cases onto a luggage cart.
"I know, Ty. I'm just starting to miss it already", I laid my head down on my brothers shoulder as we waited for our mom and dad to finish up.
An hour later, we were all crawling out of the crammed taxi, and unlocking the door to the new house. It was one o'clock here in New England, but back home it would be five in the morning, and I'm exhausted. A thirteen hour flight can really mess you up, especially when you haven't slept in over twenty hours.
"Okay, kids, I know you're all pretty tired, but we need to stay awake at least until dark out. Can't let jet lag drag us down", I sighed when my dad shared his plan with us. We just moved half way across the world, the least he could do is let us sleep.
After we finished getting settled in. we had finished eating our takeout, and I was practically drooling at the thought of the pure bliss of comforting unconsciousness. The scary thought? I'd be attending a new school in less than twelve hours

"Evelyn, we're going to be late. Get your ass up!" My body shot up at Quinn's announcement. The last thing I need is to be late on my first day. New life, new me. I hurried to the bathroom to take a shower, where I took just enough time to let the steaming water soothe my tense muscles.
Twenty minutes later, I found myself in front of my mirror curling my now dry hair into beach waves. My long hair surprisingly doesn't have a problem with cooperating this morning.
I do my best to apply natural looking makeup, and soon enough, I'm picking out my outfit. After about three different outfits, I decide on a black dress T shirt, nude blazer, dark blue skinny jeans, and my nude and black flats. My belly button-length golden chain is found accessorized around my neck before I'm walking downstairs, bag in hand, and nervous to start a new day.
"Hey, sis", my brothers greet me at the front door before we say goodbye to our parents and turn to leave.
As we begin our walk to school, I stray a few steps behind the boys as my thoughts invade my mind. What if I don't fit in here? What if they think I'm weird because I'm American? Maybe my fears are a little irrational and out of place but it-
"Evie", I'm broken out of my trance before I realize we're standing in front of our hew high school, and to say its hugenormous is an understatement.
Seeing as my brothers are seniors and I'm a junior, we're broken apart, and I find myself going to the main office to retrieve my schedule.
"Hello, how may I help you, dear?" The first British accent I've heard since I've been here belongs to the lovely secretary, and I already feel welcomed here by the tone of her kindness.
"Yes, I'm new here and I need to get my schedule please?", the butterflies in my stomach have now turned into a swarm of stinging bees, and even if the lady is sweet, it's hard not to be intimidated by all of the watchful eyes from the hallway.
"Ah, you must be Evelyn Black. Just a second, sweetie, I'll be right back" before I even have the chance to come up with a response, the short, portly woman has disappeared and I'm left alone to sit in the nearby chair.
As I look around the room, I'm startled out of my seat as the tardy bell rings, and not soon after, a boy with the curliest hair and the greenest eyes I've ever seen walks in. I don't miss the chill that seems to follow, however.
"Damn it. Where's Judy?" It took a moment to realize the boy was, in fact, talking to me, but my brain still hadn't processed his words. I was captivated all too well by the beauty standing in front of me.
"Do you speak English?"
"I-I'm uhm", of course I was speechless. I'm guessing by Judy, he means the secretary, but I still couldn't find the words to stutter out.
"Guess not, then", he rudely huffed. To my great relief, Judy walked in just before he was about to storm out, and assuming he was late, gave him a late lass after sloppily scribbling her signature over the ting printed works that read "unexcused".
"One more and you'll have to receive an after school, Mr. Styles", Judy warned. He mumbled a quiet "yeah, yeah" before he disappeared through the doorway and out of sight.
When I walked out of the office, schedule and excused late pass in hand, I adventured down the hallway to my assigned locker where my books were supposedly waiting for me. According to the paper, I have English with Mr. Evers first. This ought to be rough. English was never my cup of tea. Haha, I'm not funny.
As I walked down a third hallway, I saw the boy again, rummaging through what I assumed was his own locker.
"Uhm excuse me. Could you please tell me where Mr. Evers' room is?" My body froze in its place when his gorgeous eyes locked on mine.
"Oh, so you do speak English. American accent, is it?" I wouldn't ever expect a smile from him, not at all; however, a boy like him was bound to at least show some kind of a taunting smirk, one that would leave you breathless with competition just behind his dominant expression. Which is what left me confused, he didn't give me a smile, a smirk. Just a straight face.
"Yeah. Are you going to help me our not?"
"Pass."
Ok, then. I start to walk past him, but his voice stops me again. "I hope you know you shouldn't even be in this area, this is the senior wing. I have to head through the junior wing, though, I'll walk you there." I was surprised by his offer, but I wasn't going to ruin it. I have no idea where I'm going.
"What's your name", I question. If he's walking me to class, I at least want to know his name.
"Harry."
"Well, Harry, how did you know I'm a junior?"
"You asked for Mr. Evers. Mr. Evers teaches College English 3 for first hour, 3 means year three. Year three is a junior, ta da", he said sarcastically. I was about to say something about the attitude he was having with me, but j realized we were standing outside of my destined classroom, and I couldn't help but just stare at the closed door.
"Are you going to go in or not?", I heard Harry ask.
"Right, sorry."
"Meet me at my locker during each passing period, I'll just walk you to each class for today", and just like that, he's gone, walking in the same direction as we came, to his own class.
I gulped as I slowly opened the door, hearing who I assume was Mr. Evers stop mid sentence to see who was the culprit of intruding his lecture.
"Hi, I'm Evelyn. You're the English teacher?", it seemed as if I had every pair of eyes resting on me, and it was rather uncomfortable. I felt like I was the newest exhibit in the zoo, being studied by curious visitors.
"Yes, Evelyn! It's a pleasure to have you in my class! That empty spot in the room, right by Trinity, will be your seat", the middle aged man seemed as pleased as he let on, and it calmed my nerves a bit to see another happy face.
