I stopped in front of the class with Darren still holding unto me. I blushed and looked down, smiling like an idiot.
"Uhm, th-thanks for d-dropping me off. This is my stop." I told him, trying to contain my sudden stuttering. Darren raised his eyebrow.
"What makes you think I'm staying out here? I wanna make sure you are safe getting inside." he said bluntly. I looked at him shocked and blushed even harder. "O-Oh, I'm sorry I just--"
"Ms. Slade you're back come into class imm--" Mr. Archer stopped mid-sentence and eyed Darren, his eyes moving to where Darren's arm was and to how close we were.
"Mr. Archer, he just brought me back from the nurse an--" I was cut off immediately.
"No, no. It's fine if you wanted to see your little boyfriend you could have done so after class! Four hour detention!!" Mr. Archer yelled. I winced. Even when I try I mess up anyways, gosh. I looked down.
"Yes, sir."
Darren moved his hand from my back and I looked up. He was face to face with Mr. Archer. I gulped and started to walk into the class but Darren quickly grabbed my elbow, still eyeing Mr. Archer.
"Do you have something to say, Mr. Netton?" Mr. Archer asked, narrowing his eyes at Darren. Darren just looked back, his face calm, but stern at the same time. "Mr. Netton, you have better answer me, before you get detention too."
Darren kept staring while he shrugged. Mr. Archer was starting to get flustered.
When he had enough, he blinked and screamed at Darren: "SIX HOURS DETENTION FOR YOU, MR. NETTON!!"
I flinched, backing away from Mr. Archer. Darren, on the other hand, kept staring at him, the calm look still on his face. Finally, the corners of Darren's mouth slowly turned up.
"That's cool Mr. Archer. What day?" Darren asked.
Mr. Archer frowned from the response.
"Saturday morning, like always." Mr. Archer replied, his frown turning into a scowl.
Darren smiled wider.
"That's good. I was afraid you were gonna have to cancel your plans..." Mr. Archer paused, then blinked, confused. I look up at Darren, curious about what he'll say next.
"What plans...?"
"Your plans to go fuck yourself for being a total dick." Darren said his smile never leaving. My eyes widen, as I put my hand over my mouth to cover my sudden laugh. I look up at Mr. Archer, who's face is bright red with anger and embarrassment. All the kids in the classroom are poking their heads out of the classroom, mumbling to one another. Darren smiles again and asked with mockery; "I'm sorry Mr. Archer, did I offend you??"
Mr. Archer glared at him, then look back toward the classroom.
"GET BACK IN THE CLASS BEFORE YOU ALL GET DETENTION!!" He said, walking back into the class. I look up at Darren in astonishment. He looks back, chuckling.
"That worked better than expected." He said smiling.
"H-how did you do that?!" I ask, staring at him with wide eyes. He chuckles again, pulling on my elbow bringing me closer to him, until we were face to face. I blush harder than I ever have and look down. He lifts my head back up with one finger.
"Maybe your beauty made it easier for it to work." He says looking into my eyes. I was wrong. Now I blush as hard as I can. Ugh... I hope I don't throw up.... He smiles, letting my arm go. "Go on to class. If he gives you anymore trouble, I'll be here, okay?"
I look back down and nod. Then he is next to me, his mouth by my ear; "I'll meet you right here after class, okay?" I pause.
"B-but uhh... y-you d-don't have... umm... B-Brian will--" he cuts me off.
"I'm sure he'll be fine... so will you come with me after class?" He says, pleading in his voice. I think for a minute, then nod, walking in to my class. He smiles then waves as the door shuts behind me.
