"Just leave Lacey. I don't want to see you anymore." His words cut through me like knives as I was backed up into the wall. "I never loved you."

Tears stream down my face and I quickly find the door handle. It twists in my hand as I run out of the building without turning back. It is dark and cold out in the rain. I grab my phone out of my pocket to get someone to pick me up.

It's dead of course.

I continue on my long trek going in only God knows what direction until I come across a coffee shop. When I enter, the warm air hits me, my body desperately wanting to feel the heat. I feel the pin pricks of the heat on my skin, but it is nothing compared to the severed wound in my heart.

I knew he was cheating on me. I knew his friends put him up to this. I knew he didn't love me.

It was a path of self destruction from the moment I met him. My friends warned me about him. They told me what a no good man he was, but I didn't believe them until now.

I order a cup of coffee and sit down with it hoping to feel something. All I can do is stare down into the cup. The chair across from me suddenly slides out causing me to jump.

"Sorry, I don't mean to scare you." He says to me with a warm smile. "You looked lonely and nobody should ever feel that way."

From the moment I saw the boy with the crooked smile and lip ring, I knew that there was something special about him. Something hidden behind his eyes.

"Let's just say, it has been a long night. I'm Lacey." I respond holding out my hand for him to shake.

"Well I've got time, Lacey. By the way, my name is Luke."
