The day I died (on hold)

Chapter 8

I don't know how long we were up there but I liked it just looking out at the forest and listen to the birds and other animals. It was nice. "Hey do you know what time it is?" I asked tomoé. He looked at his wrist and said "5:30 pm"

"Really only 5:30."
"Yep. Why?"
"I need to be back at the orphanage by nine"
"Oh. Have you ever been looked at by people who want to adopt?"
"Yea but they look at me with the same look your dad did"
"Oh" tomoé turned his head to me and gave me a sad smile.

"So tomoé what made you come to our  stinky school?"
"Nothing just got tired of riding in car for an hour to my other school."
"Oh. What was your other school like?"
"Much like this one. Only we didn't have a uniform."
"Nice!"
"Um Hikaru not to intruded on you're personal life. But how long have you been in that orphanage?"
"About 4 years now. Almost 5."
"Really what happened?"
"My parents died in a car accident."
"Oh I'm sorry. "
"It's fine. I do miss my dad though."
"Why only you're dad?"
"My dad did everything to make me and my mom happy. He was kind, caring and never yelled at me. Helped me with homework even if he didn't know how to do it."
"He sounds like he was a nice guy and father."
"Yea he was" I looked away from tomoé and smiled.

Talking about my dad or Neko makes me happy. It's helps me little by little. But it's not enough to help me let go.

"Hey tomoé?" I looked back at tomoé "Yea?" He looked at me. "Do you like being apart of a family?"  I asked with a sad look on my small face. "Yea! I love it. I wish my dad was as nice like my mom to my friends though. But I still love him. "

Love. Thats something I haven't felt or known much about. I sighed. I only read about it. But never had I ever loved or had a crush on any guy. The only people I've ever really loved was my dad, Neko and the rest of my family. I hated my mother.

"Hikaru, don't you have any other family you could live with?" Tomoé asked.
"No there all dead."
"Oh" he didn't continue with any more questions.

The rest of the time we just made small talk and listen to the sounds of nature. Tomoé looked at his watch and said" it's about 8:30 we have to go home."   "Ok"

We climbed down and started back to the orphanage and his home. We parted our ways and said good byes and see you school. That kind of stuff.

When I entered supper was just being served. I got my food ate and washed my dishes and went to the girls room. I took out my phone and headphones and went on YouTube.
I watched random things I found cool or weird.

Lights out was called and the girls were getting dressed in pjs and getting into bed. I did the same. I plugged in my phone. I look at my necklace one last time and fell in to a another dreamless sleep
