Here is my attempt at some more fun and lighthearted poetry--enjoy!
Pi Day: A Math Nerd’s Poem
It was Pi Day, 3.14,
And everyone was ready for the festivities in store,
Ready to eat pie, and recite its digits too.
Everyone restless, the tension grew,
Waiting for me to take out the celebratory pie.
Carefully I made my way through the crowd,
Then put the pie tenderly on its special stand, a shroud.
Its circumference was flawlessly made,
And its diameter proudly displayed.
With care I opened the pie’s box nice and neat,
It was golden and crispy and ready to eat,
With a hundred of pi’s digits elegantly molded on top.
Then I realized my terrible mistake after it quieted to a pin drop.
“Why is the pie square shaped???” Somebody yelled.
Soon distressed reached the crowd, their previous joy quelled;
Nervous murmurs circulating around about what was said.
Then a clever thought popped in to my head,
And I confidently declared:
“That’s because pi-are-squared!”
Was it ''pun''ny? Okay I'll stop the puns now.... Please vote and leave comments--I would love to hear your reactions and some constructive criticism!
