Kitten's Secret

There once was a sweet lil girl,

They called her Kitten,

On each hand she wore a soft mitten

She would play with yarn, such a cheery youth,

And try to catch butterflies with a twirl;

Playful was the wee bairn; tis the truth.

Carefree and happy was she,

But she kept a secret deep inside

Until someone told the child, bright-eyed,

“I have a gift for you, lil kitty,”

And lo and behold to what her eyes did appear,

But a meow and ball of fur, a puss itty bitty;

And to all’s surprise she started to cry in fear.

“What’s wrong, Kit, my sweet?”

He asked in frank confusion

Almost sure her upset was a delusion.

With watery wide eyes and runny nose,

She confessed her secret in sad defeat;

“I am allergic to cats!” and ran away as red as a rose.

Well I hoped you enjoyed the general silliness of that piece. Please vote if you liked it and please please leave feedback! I absolutely love getting comments. Tell me what you think (praise or constructive criticism, either one)!
