Prototype's Story

the beginning

Day one
I was born, well, I guess I wasn't really "born" more like tossed out of a machine onto a conveyer belt.
But we're gonna call it born ok.
I was a Female rattus-felidae-procynidus or rat-dog
I didn't really understand that because there was no trace of dog in me, most of my traits for chosen for things humans want, like fluffy, and cute, dogs are slightly stiff and cats tend to be softer. But if you combine the looks of a rat and a cat you get a sort of dog shaped head and that seems to be the reason we are called that.
I was white and my name was zahari

According to the humans we made great pets, and companions.
I guess I was not that type of creature.

I hated the people, they put me in a cage, I hated the other people from outside, always grabbing me and squishing me.
So one day I climbed from a person's hands and ran for the door, I was strange no one tried to stop me.
I ran and ran as far away from that awful place I lived.
I ran through the extensive city, gladly i was small enough to hide even though my light grey coat stuck out In the dark grey atmosphere
I ran towards the edge of the city, my sides heaved and my legs and paws hurt like Hell.
I was almost there when something hit me hard from the side.

Now I lay on the ground dazed, I looked up to another rat-dog that had me pinned down,
It said these words to me,
"NO"
"What?" I wheezed
"YOU JUST ABOUT KILLED YOURSELF WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!"
"Escaping this awful city.... duh."
It's voice lowered as it said, " how you seriously not know about the barrier that surrounds the city?"
"WHAT BARRIER!" I snapped back I have never known of such things
"The stupid barrier that prevents people and genetically modified creatures from escaping and harming the natural world... duh." It said smirking
"At least let me get up you clod." I said
And he let me up, we walked over to the barrier and it demonstrated what it does as he threw a rock at it.
The rock flung back off the barrier as a molten bubble of lava as it came back and hit the ground

"So... what now?" I said
"Well, we could go to my colony, it's under a building over there we have three members including me." It responded
"OH and one question before we go... are you a boy or a girl?"
"Neither, but I prefer to be called a "she"."
"Ok"
We walked over to the nearly perfect square that Was a human building.
She took me behind it and then i saw the tiny hole right under the small gas-box, almost unnoticeable but still big enough to fit a ferret sized critter like them.
We slipped into the hole and I was........ bewildered by what I saw...... I never knew what my species could do but this had to be better than any human could have ever hoped to do in their generationq
