Michael balanced Luke's bag food in his hand as he attempted to fish out his keys, clumsily dropping them on the floor as he sighed heavily, shaking his head as he placed the food on the floor and grabbed his keys. He opened the door, instantly being greeted by the heavy scent of vanilla, which Michael already knew belonged to the candles Luke lit up when he felt down. He picked the food back up, closing the door with his foot as he walked towards the kitchen island, placing the food down as he looked over his shoulder in search for Luke.

"Baby?" Michael called with a frown. "I'm home!"

"Bedroom!" He heard Luke's voice, muffled by the closed door and he smiled. He dropped all his things on the floor, kicking off his shoes and shrugging off his jacket, walking towards the bedroom in his socks. He was going to scare his fiancé, but as he heard the sniffles that came from the room, he changed his mind, knocking softly before sticking his head inside.

"You okay?" Michael frowned, seeing Luke laying under the covers, curtains pulled down to block the light and The Notebook playing on the flat screen TV. He looked up at the black haired man with wide blue eyes, pulling the cover further up so it covered up to his nose.

"Mhm." Luke nodded as he inhaled deeply. "Just come cuddle? Please?"

"Do you not want to eat?" Michael asked as he stepped further into the room, starting to unbutton his dress shirt, shrugging it off and proceeding to undo the buttons on his work pants. He knew Luke was naked under the covers, so he didn't bother to ask if the blond was okay with him stripping.

"Could you bring the pizza over?" Luke pouted, scooting to the side so that Michael could lay next to him. "It's extra cheese and bacon right?"

"Always." Michael smiled, leaning over the bed to give Luke a soft kiss on the lips before he stood back up. "I'll bring the Chinese in too, in case you want it."

"Thank you." Luke smiled weakly, watching as Michael stepped out of the room, coming back in seconds later with the pizza box and Luke's Chinese food with a fork. He placed the pot of noodles on Luke's bedside table, running to the other side of the bed and crawling in. He placed the pizza box on his lap, sitting comfortably so that Luke could snuggle up to him. The blond gladly did, swinging his leg over Michael's waist as he fished out the first slice of pizza and taking a large bite. Pizza had always been Luke's comfort food, it always made Luke feel slightly better.

"Can we watch something else?" The black haired man sighed as he fished the remote control.

"No!" Luke whined, slapping Michael's hand away from the remote control. "Lukey is upset so Lukey gets to pick the movie."

"Lukey needs to stop talking in third person whenever he wants to get things his own way." Michael chuckled, wrapping his arms tighter around his fiancé as he watched Luke take a large bite off his slice of pizza. "Why are you upset, babe?"

"I just..." Luke sighed, shaking his own head as he reached for the remote, pausing the movie and tossing his slice of pizza back into the box. He sat up, turning to face Michael as he pulled the covers just enough so that they covered his naked lap. Michael couldn't help but place his hand on the small patch of skin of Luke's knee peeking out of the duvet. "I'm just tired, you know?"

"Tired of what?" The black haired man breathed, feeling his heart sink as one single question popped into his mind. "Tired of me?"

Luke couldn't help but laugh, throwing his head back as his light laugh filled the room. The blond knew Michael was rolling his eyes as he fought a smile, because that was what Michael always did whenever he realised he had said something silly that made Luke laugh. He hated the fact that Luke was laughing at him, but he loved the fact Luke was laughing. It would always be something Luke would cherish in his fiancé: Luke's happiness was always the most important thing to him.

"No, of course not." Luke shook his head, sniffling yet again before huffing. "My job. I don't know, babe, I just can't deal with it anymore."

"Why not?" Michael asked, sitting up straight before looping his arm around Luke's neck and pulling the blond closer. It was almost painful for Michael to be around Luke and not have him pressed against his side. Having Luke next to him was almost a necessity; he was so in love with the blond, it scared him to bits.

"I-It's just not what I want to do with my life." Luke cracked. Tears flowed and sobs escaped his lips as Michael pulled the love of his life into his chest, running his fingers through his blond hair and trying his best to comfort him without saying things he knew would mean nothing to the blond. If he was going to say something, he wanted to make sure it would be something that genuinely made Luke feel better. "I just, I just wanted to make my parents proud but what's it worth if I'm miserable?"

"You're right." Michael nodded after a painful couple of minutes of listening to Luke ball his eyes out. "It's not worth it if you're miserable, babe." Michael shifted, taking Luke's face between his hands so that he could get the blond to look up at him. "This is about you, not your parents. You are nothing less than an exceptional son and your parents are so proud of you. Baby, you're a freaking engineer. Do you know how many people work their ass off to be where you are now and never make it like you did? Your parents will always be proud of where you got to, even if it's not what you want anymore. They'll be proud of whatever it is you choose to do."

"It's not like I can just quit, Mike." Luke cried, looking up at the ceiling as he bit his lower lip. "We need the money, and I'm not going to just dump everything on you when you're already getting all the wedding figured out. I want to pitch in in whatever way I can."

"Luke," Michael laughed lightly, leaning in and pressing his lips to Luke's gently. "I don't care if you're not pitching in for rent or bills or whatever. I earn enough to get us by and now with all the wedding money locked up somewhere else, I can pull some strings and we'll be okay. What I do care about is your happiness. I don't want you getting this upset over work, babe, to the point that you just don't want to go and cry whenever thinking about it. Luke, believe me, I'll support you through anything and if you want to quit, please do. I'll be here, emotionally and financially and however else you want me to for as long as you want me to. We're one now."

"Fuck, what have I ever done to deserve you?" Luke laughed, crawling onto Michael's lap and pushing the box of pizza aside as he pressed his lips to Michael's gently.

"Funny," Michael smirked up at his fiancé. "I was thinking exactly the same thing."
