Lauren stood there speechless. I wish I could have just erased Vanessa from the situation but unfortunately I couldn't. Lauren looked amazing. she looked so confident and strong like I remember but something different I couldn't put my finger on it.
"hey." she said and then zooming past me. Ethan looked at me in shock.
"is that someone I should k ow?" Vanessa questioned.
"no not not really." I replied looking at Lauren walk away. hey Vanessa i will be right back. talk to Ethan." I said about to leave.
"my ass you will. I know that's your ex. and you told me that she meant nothing to you, so why should I let you. unless you still like her and you want me to leave. i could do that too." she smiled. what a dick move.
"no, I won't leave then." I said defeated. Ethan looked at me as to showing I'm really dumb.
"ugh I hate this store let's go?" Vanessa asked kissing me.
"yeah let's go." I said walking out the doors.

*laurens POV*

I got in line shaking. what just happened and did I really just walk away?! I have to admit I felt pretty bad ass about it. shows I don't play games. but he was so cute, and it was so hard not to just tell him how I felt.
"Lauren?" I heard a voice.
"Grayson?" I asked.
"what? no it's Mel." she said laughing. I then just started to cry. Mel I'm a mess. I hate cadley. I'm alone half the time. I miss living here, I'm up to my head in work and I don't see a silver lining." I said crying. "I- I got to run to the restroom. please pay for these." I said handing her my wallet and the clothes.
"Lauren!" she yelled after me as I excited the store. I went to a corner in the mall with a bench and sat and cried. crying about everything.
"Lauren?" another voice said. I must have been hulusinated because it sounded just like Grayson's again. the voice say right next to me. I lifter my head to see it was Grayson. I quickly whipped my tears and stood up straight.
"hey." I said chuckling.
"hey mrs.runaway." he laughed, I laughed with him.
"look uh, sorry bout all that. I'm in an emotional distress." I grinned.
"hey we all have those days." he tried reasoning.
"psh days, more like months." I said under my breath.
"you don't like Cadley?" he asked.
"well it's not that I dislike it, I just feel alone, and completely overwhelmed." I replied.
"look, I really missed you-" he started
"Grayson I think we should stick to friends." I said looking at him.
"I understand, I was actually going to say that."
"oh." I replied. we both smiled then awkwardly shook hands.
"pal?" I smiled as I shook.
"buddy." he laughed as did i.

"woah, woah, woah!" double dates coming soon?" Mel asked winking with the bag of my stuff in one hand and Ethan's hand in the other.
" friends." I smiled at her. she got the hint and shut up.
