Chapter 3

(Kris POV)

After that call from Jessica, I hurriedly drove to her place.

Jessica has been one of my closest friends since I entered the business. She was this pretty, ice princess that everyone knows of. She may be "icy" and difficult on the outside (maybe the reason why we clicked) but the truth is that she's soft, caring and not to mention, a crybaby. She has been so nice to me and little did I know that I was already falling for her.

(flashback)
One winter day...

"I just brought you this freshly baked apple pie 'cause I know you'll love it. So yea.. I better get going now."
I said rubbing the back of my neck after I handed her the pie. I turned around and began to walk

"Hey! Wu Yifan!"  Jessica caught up with me and as I turned to face her, she put a scarf around my neck. I can feel my heartbeat race as we were so close to each other.

"There. So, you won't be cold on your way home. And as a little payment for your kindness in bringing me my favorite when I know that you are busy..." She said smiling then, I was surprised when she stood on her toes to reach me and kissed me on my cheek. I swear to God, I am tomato red as my heartbeat continue to race.

(End of flashback)

I got to the building where her unit is located and took my phone to call and tell her that I'm near. As I was walking fast while focusing on my phone...

(bam!)

(Alex POV)

I don't have work today so I am here in my unit trying to rest. I was about to take a nap when I got a phone call from the hospital telling me there's an emergency and I need to be there. So, I changed my clothes at the speed of light, grabbed my things and went out.

I got to the lobby of my unit's building and looked for my car keys inside my bag while walking at a fast pace. As I can't see where I was going...
