Stuck Like Glue

Chapter two

I sat on the porch and watched the rain pour. I saw a shadow of a figure walking my way. He approached me, soaking wet.

"Alex?" I asked in confusion.

I hadn't invited him over.

"Yeah, it's me." He said and stepped onto the porch taking his hood off of his head.

"I need a favor." He said and I saw the desperation in his face.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"I know you said you were having a party this Saturday... I need you to cancel. But you can't tell Emily it's canceled." He said and I burrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"What? Why? That doesn't make any sense..."   

"I'm in love with Emily. I need to get close to her. I know she would like me. She just needs an excuse to get to know me." He said and pulled a pair of handcuffs out of his jacket pocket.

 "And what are you planning to do with those exactly?" I asked pointing at them with my index finger.

"I need you to put these on us and pretend like we're stuck." He said.

I knew I must've given him a strange look by the way he was looking at me awkwardly.

 "Why can't you just tell her you like her like a normal guy would?" I asked.

"Because, I know she doesn't like me like that. She actually finds me annoying according to my sources." He said and shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Okay, I'll do this for you... But what do I get in return?" I asked my left eyebrow slightly raised.

"Whatever you want." He said.

I thought about what I would want for a few seconds then finally came up with something.

"I want money." I said simply.

"How much?" He asked slightly narrowing his eyes at me.

"Hundred bucks." I said and he crossed his arms and thought about it for a second.

"Okay, done. I'll give you the money after." He said and I nodded.

"I get the money even if it doesn't work out between you two." I said and he nodded.

"Okay." He said and put his dripping wet hand out for me to shake.

I took it and then wiped the rain off onto my jeans. He pulled the hand cuffs out of his pocket and placed them in my hand.

 "Here's the plan... We're all going to sit around for an hour and then once she realizes no one else is coming, then you 'remember'," He said making air quotes when he said 'remember'. 

"That you had just recently bought a pair of hand cuffs and are dying to try them out on someone. Me and Emily. Then once Emily wants them to be taken off, you take this fake key and try to unlock it. Got it?" He said.

I nodded and he handed me the key and the hand cuffs.

"Thank you Katy. I owe you big time." He said and pulled me into a hug.

He pulled away from me a couple of seconds later. I looked down at my clothes and I was soaking wet.

"Your welcome." I said and he left.

I sat back down on the porch. I tried to remember everyone I invited and then pulled my cell out of my pocket and called everyone and told them that the party was off. Alex better fucking love me after this. I sighed and got up and went back into my house.
