I could see it in my head so clearly. I'd walk into my house and they'd all be in the living room like they always are when I come home. I would walk in, sit down, get everyone's attention and just say it.
"Everyone, I'm gay."
And they would all accept me and hug me, my brother would say that he always knew and loved me anyway. My mom would hug me and be so excited that I didn't have to hide anything from her anymore while my dad would clap me on the back and be excited to talk about sports with me more often.
I would sit there feeling more loved than I ever was, and I would then say "Now I have someone I want you to meet."
They'd all watch me as I walked to the door and waved for her to come on up. I'd take her hand and we'd both walk in hand in hand to a loving family.
"Liv?" I heard through my family hugging me. "Olivia, are you daydreaming again?"
Oh please no, not again.
"Olivia, this is English, you're still in school." I could see everything starting to melt away from me. "Olivia it's Brandon; time to come back to the real world."
My eyes adjusted to everything around me as the white walls of the classroom appeared and the tan desks came into focus. The bell must have rung because the students were emptying out of the classroom leaving a worried Brandon staring at me.
"Are you back yet? We have to head down to home room for our senior meeting." He asked waving his hand in front of my face.
I slapped his hand away and gave him a forced smile, this needs to stop happening to me. I grabbed my books as the warning bell rang and we fled from the classroom running down the halls to get to home room. We took our seats right as the bell rang and we both let our heaving chests calm down as we waited for the meeting to start.
Through staggered breath Brandon said, "So which..one was it..this time? The happy..one..or the..heartbreak..one?"
"Technically they are both..heartbreaking..Brandon." I replied lowering my head to the desk.
"I know, but sometimes..the happy one gives..you hope." He said causing me to lift my eyes to gaze into his chocolate brown orbs that gazed back at me sadly. Our home room teacher came in after a few seconds of silence between Brandon and I and began our meeting.~Hey guys, this is just a small thing I worked on a little while ago.
