Chapter 4

It was time for us to leave to go home. We all split up. Brianne was going to Ontario and Misak and Skyleigh were going to Mont Clair, while Mateo and Sara and i were going to 25th street in Upland. I asked them if they wanted to have dinner with me and my family and they said yes.

We came in the house and my mom was still cooking. We went upstairs to do our homework. Mateo asked me if i wanted the door opened or closed. I said,"Cracked cause i want my mom to hear us studying." He smiled. I turned to Sara and asked her if she saw any other cute guy in the class we weren't in.

She said,"Yes...his name is Cody."

I smiled then said,"Awe. Now you can have your Cody Simpson dream now." We laughed.

She said,"Well i never thought i would meet a guy named Cody. I guess i thought wrong."

I said,"Yup. Plus you are already living your highschool dream." I turned to Mateo then asked him what was he asking me at school.

He said,"Oh...Nothing. I was just asking if will you go out with me to go to the park after school with my buddies?"

I said,"No that wasn't it cause you were telling me something about i broke your heart before and that you didn't want to break it again and so on?"

He smiled then said,"I think your mom was calling you or us to come and eat dinner."

I yelled coming as Sara and i raced down the stairs. Sara tripped and fell so she started tumbling down the stairs. Mateo and I were laughing.

Once we made it down stairs to the kitchen we all grabbed our seats. Sara sat on my right and Mateo sat on my left. He started rubbing his leg up and down mine. I kicked him, like a good friend does, and whispered no. My mom asked,"Who wants to say grace."

I raised my hand and said,"I will." I wait for every one to settle down. I continued,"Dear God, thank you for this day. Thank you for the beautiful creatures i saw today and thank you for making my first day of highschool fun and enjoyable with my friends. In Jesus name I pray." Everyone said Amen simultaneously. We began to eat. My mom made Mac and cheese with broccoli and steak on the side with mashed potatoes.

When we were done eating we went back up stairs to finish our homework. Sara said she had to use the restroom so she would meet us in the room when she was done. Mateo closed the door behind us. He grabbed my waist and turned me around. He said,"Here is to my revenge." Then kissed me on the lips. I pulled back in shock. He smiled and as did I. I told him i didn't want to be in a relationship because i didn't want it to affect my work. So we weren't going to date but we could act like we were. Plus i cant date until I'm sixteen and that's when I'm a sophomore.

Sara came out of the bathroom and she said,"I think its time for us to leave. Its eight thirty."

I said,"Yeah, you guys should go home so you don't get in trouble. See you at school tomorrow."

They both said bye. Sara was already down the stairs when Mateo kissed me on the cheek saying,"Wanna ride to school tomorrow. I'm gonna be car pooling to school with Misak and Brianne and maybe Skyleigh." I nodded my head in agreement.

I said,"Text me. okay?"

"Will do." He said.
