Waving her hand for silence she went on, "Very well. it all began long ago when i was a young warrior with short brown hair. this was far after Eugene passed. this tale takes place in about the year 1760. i was still young and stupid; immortal actually. i had been hunting some deer when the head bull ran me down, destroying my bow. so i now wandered the land without a weapon. anything could have killed me. but i was on a river bed when i found an army of solders... one held a bow of gold. i lifted it, expecting it to be heavy, but in fact, it was lighted than my old bow of ceder!"
"A bow of gold that's lighter than a bow of ceder? You're messing with us, aren't you?" a little boy asked.
"Now why would i do a thing like that? This is as true as the mountain breeze! Anyway, i used the bow for some time, until i was approached by someone who threatened my life with a bow similar to mine; i shot and struck. he told me in his last moments that the bow was the bow of a member of the arrows of light, he knew because he was one of them. because i had killed him with the bow, the bow was now cursed to burn the hand of the one who wielded it. i knew immediately, for my hand burned! i continued to wield it though, knowing that it would burn for eternity. finally i grew sick of it.... this is the true story."
