Almost Lovers

Almost friends .. with benefits

....... Wow I haven't written about this in a while let's hope I still remember everything because this story isn't over haha.....

PART 2:
So it had been a while, they had both moved on. Maya was now with someone for close to a year and so was Jake. They hadn't even spoken to each other! Until about a week or two before Canada day! Maya and her friend Jessica were still somewhat close to his friends and so they were both invited to the now annual Canada day party; the same as the fist year they met. This time it was an actual high school drunken party! And they were sleeping out because at this point maya and her friend could drive! So her and Jessica planned to sleep in the car that night. Everyone had set up tents and we're starting to drink! They went for a swim and had a bonfire later going all night

When they first got there they were all singing along with the guitar by the lake and then went swimming, playing water games. Jake and maya were drawn to each other once again flirting unintentionally and she found out that he was scared of deep water!! But you know in a cute way of course!

When they had started talking again a few weeks ago she found out that he had been broken up with and was very hurt by it of course.

When it was darker out and they had all had some drinks Jake asked if they could talk in private about everything and she agreed. They walked along the beach and began talking about her relationship with tommy and how it was going. Jake already knew that she didn't want to be with him anymore. She had confided in him and told him about how her feelings were starting to fade away. Maya knew she was going to end it but she needed to wait until he was back from his trip abroad before she could break it off! Doing it over text or through Skype was just too low!!

They found a clearing near the edge of the lake and sat on a rock. He began explaining how much he had cared for his ex and how she didn't want the same future as he did in the relationship. Maya comforted him as best she could "you deserve better! You're an amazing guy and she's an idiot for not seeing that!" He started to say how much he missed talking to Maya and being around her because he knew that she would listen and that she wanted to be there for him. They had been talking for a while and enjoying each others company; "I'm trying really hard not to kiss you" he said to her and she replied "Honestly I really want to kiss you too but I'm still with him." even though her feelings aren't there for tommy she could never do that to someone; it just want who she was. "I understand!" He said "I'm not going to force you to do anything you don't want to but just know that the feeling is there." They sat in silence for a bit and then went on to talk about the hilarious events of the night; people streaking, loud drunken noises, and all that comes with drunk teenagers on an island!

Once the night slowed and everyone started heading to bed Jake and his friend insisted that the girls shared the tent with them. They agreed and moved they're sleeping bags into the tent they all got changed and ready for bed. (separately of course!) As they were falling asleep Jake and Maya fell perfectly together her in his arms falling asleep he kissed her forehead and even though she knew it wasn't 100% right she couldn't move it felt all to perfect!

They cuddled throughout the whole night and woke up for his blaring alarm at 7 in the morning because he didn't turn it off. That wasn't cool! Since they went to sleep about 4am... They tried to go back to sleep but that didn't happen! So they all got up and hung out the morning by the bonfire while they all sobered up and made sure it was safe for them to drive home!

Jake and Maya continued to talk and agreed they wanted to stay friends. She did break up with tommy and was still upset because she had so much with tommy but she knew it wasn't fair to him. Her feelings weren't going to change. So that was that and she was okay with her decision.  Jake and herself started dating other people again. They still had feelings and curiosities about each other but never got the chance to act on them. Either Maya was single and he was dating or he was single and she was dating the timing was never right between the two!

Eventually they were both single and decided to start hanging out again. They had gone out for coffee a few times and than he asked her to go over and watch a movie with him. The movie they picked was a gory one but they both liked it. Of course they were cuddling and she would burry her eyes head in his chest when the scenes got a little too much! Eventually Jake kissed her and she kissed him back. "I've wanted to do this for so long" he admitted and she couldn't help but smile, blush, and kiss him over and over again! They began to get more and more intense, he pulled her shirt off kissing every inch of the skin he exposed. She then pulled his shirt off wasting no time between kisses! There was so much intensity between them it was electric.

They had to stop themselves before it got too far! They were cuddling on the couch and of course the movie was over oops! So they decided to watch a funny tv show and cuddled for the rest of the night. Once it got late Maya reluctantly said she had to go! She started to collect her things and they didn't stop kissing; in between every word spoken and on every step and they walked up the stairs towards the door. It was one of the best nights she'd had. This "friends with benefits" was the best!!And it went on for a while!

They would go for coffee and talk like friends, watch movies and go to parties. The two of them made a cute couple which were the opinions of so many people around them! They joked about being part of a shirtless club;) they would just hangout cuddle and watch movies with no shirts on!

They had a lot of fun together they really were good friends! They went out for coffee one night before Naya was going to a party. Maya and Jake had both decided that they wanted to try out relationships again; they wanted more but not with each other! It was the best way that it could have ended no one got hurt and they both still cared so very much for each other! They had a last kiss goodbye and went they're separate ways! Maya was glad they were glad they were both on the same page and stayed really close. They still talk to this day!:)

Okay so honestly this is pretty much it! They didn't exactly live happily every after, it did end between them and I'm sorry it wasn't the best ending ever but that's how it happened haha I hope that you guys liked it! I'm glad I finally finished it and I'm sorry it tools so long! Eventually when I can write it all out I'll have a very juicy story about me and my ex! I swear that part of my life was written by Nicolas Sparks!! Sadly the ending was more Shakespearean minus all of the death! But thanks for reading this one!!😄 every time I get a notification of someone adding it to their library I smile! It's so nice to see!!
