Almost Lovers

There bodies got closer as they danced in their costumes at the schools 80's dance. He pulled her close during a slow song and whispered "we've been dancing all night, what's your name?" she replied shyly saying Maya. He told her it was pretty and that his name was Jake. They continued dancing until it ended at 10, they both left the dance with smiles on their faces. He was one of the hottest and most popular guys in the school so she assumed that was the first and last time they would talk, not to mention he was 3 years older then her and in grade eleven.

To her surprise she went onto Facebook a couple of days later to find he had written on her wall "hey you! Remember me!" "Haha of coarse I do:)" she replied and they talked for hours, she realized that they had added each other a couple years ago on Facebook and he was the first person she had added whom she didn't know. He had told her to message him on msn, when he told her his email which was very funny, he told her it had to do with a bet made when he was younger amongst him and his friends. She had texted her friends frantically to tell them what had happened.

They began talking more and more, at school and he would call her to hangout. She was always so nervous every time her phone rang she got butterflies. Her mother did not want her dating anyone in general and said no whenever she asked to hangout alone with him. They went on a triple date with her two friends as well as his two friends. They clicked together like puzzle pieces, everyone else disappeared when they were together. It didn't take long before she had fallen head over heels for him, she hoped he felt the same.

He could be described as the perfect guy, he was a gentlemen and not just the oh ill get the door for you. Although he would open doors for her, he also pulled out her chair, and gave her his jacket when she was cold. He was funny, smart, handsome, and a hockey player to boot! She had a weakness for hockey players ever since she was little. On their triple date they went to the movies and later walked to DQ for ice cream. He offered to buy her something but the butterflies in her stomach and her nerves were so crazy that she couldn't eat anything. So they sat at the table and held hands while he attempted to eat his ice cream with one hand. She couldn't stop laughing, and his face was turning red. Time flew by and she had to leave with her friends because it was late and their ride was there.

They made many attempts to hangout after school but her mother wouldn't have it. They were stuck finding each other at school which they did everyday like it was magnetic. Every time there was a large group of people they found each other and they stood as close as they possibly could to each other without knowledge of it. Their friends would laugh at this and bug them about it. Her friends and her couldn't believe that they were a "thing". She was so astonished that a guy like that could actually like a girl like her.

One day at lunch they had found each other yet again under the tree by the long and irregular steps outside the school. They sat close to each other and listened to music her friends and his got along perfectly it couldn't have been any better. She wished that she could stay in that moment forever, even though he wasn't the best singer and was joking around she could listen to him sing forever. She found herself daydreaming about him day and night, she pictured their future together and thought to herself that she was insane being only 15 years old and thinking these things about a boy she had only known for two months.

Finally it was summer and his friend was having a party he invited her "you should come, well be able to hangout" "I'd love to:)" she went to the camp on Canada day and it tuned out to be just the four of them, her and her best friend along with him and his best friend. It was the best day she could have ever imagined, they were in a little shed building with a couch, tv, fridge and multiple other odd things hanging from the roof. She had her head on his lap as he stroked her hair, "you should play " he asked her while handing her the remote for the Xbox when they were gaming. She laughed "you're funny! I have no clue what to do!" And she frantically pressed buttons on the controller but died within 30 seconds of playing. She handed back the remote saying "told you I suck." He laughed and kissed her forehead. They spent the day at the camp laughing and talking the whole time cuddling and him kissing her head. It felt like no one else was there with them, the day came to an end and she had to leave to go to her uncles house both hoping she could go back to watch the fireworks off the lake that night.

At her uncles all she could do was think about how badly she wanted to go back to him. Her parents decided that she had to stay there that night and so they both watched the fireworks from different sides of the lake. Of coarse to her luck he didn't have a phone so they had no way of talking to each other. The two friends left camp and headed home to sleep, she thought about when she could see him next.

A couple weeks later she was at a friends house and they went to Starbucks to get coffee. They were walking by the pizza place Jake worked at and Maya's face went beat red! Her friend Amanda practically pushed her through the door to see if Jake was there. He was working behind the counter answering orders over the phone every once in a while. He offered them two slices of pizza on him and they both giggled and nodded; Maya's face still beat red if not redder.

They then left the pizza place and headed to a near by park, finding some interesting things in a tree including two hoolahoops. They were on their way back to Amanda's house and stopped by the pizza place again to say goodnight. Jake explained that he was going to be off at 10 but Amanda's mother did not want them to be out that late so once again Maya and Jake were kept from seeing each other outside of his work.

SO THIS STORY WAS BEING WRITTEN TO HELP FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT AND I HAVE NOW BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO TELL THE STORY!:)

Before they knew it Jake and Maya had to go back to school! They had stopped talking slowly throughout the rest of the summer and eventually just stopped. Maya had no idea why jake had stopped talking to her she hoped it was because he was busy. Once she got to school she knew it wasn't because he was busy he would barely look at her in the hallways! "I need to understand why we stopped talking" maya said to her best friend Jessica. "Just ask him! I'm sure he'll tell you!" "Yeah... I guess so but I'm scared that'll be it for us once I ask" "well honestly it's better to know before you fall any further and ill always be there for you!" So maya waited until she saw him again but soon it had been days. She gave up trying to talk in person he obviously didn't want to do that.

She went home one day after school and saw that he was online! So she asked him what was going on with them and he said that they never got the chance to really know each other and he ended it. The next day at school she started to tell her best friend Jessica the conversation between jake an herself, but as soon as she got to that part of him breaking it off she started to ball!! This wasn't like maya she never cried in front of people especially not at school! This was the beginning of a long and hard year. Two days later he was in a relationship with some random girl maya had never heard of before...
