Chapter 28

I turned around and smiled at everyone. We succeeded in our mission and now we were about to head home. I hugged the little boy and then waved by to everyone else.

" We'll come see you soon!" I yelled as we began to take off.

" Be careful on your way back to your village!" Shinji yelled to us.

" Oh and thanks for teaching me how to fight! I'll continue to train so I can hopefully become a strong ninja. I'll be the first ninja to come from this village!"

" Good luck with that! Bye!" I yelled and then turned around and jumped on Shikamaru's back. We fell to the ground and I laughed. I kissed his cheek and helped him up.

We made it back to the village the next day. We reported to Lady Tsunade and she was impressed. She informed me about Sasuke being in the hospital because of his mission.

" It seems he's always in the hospital nowadays." I said with a sigh.

" Oh, one more thing." She said and I turned to her. Makoto appeared in front of me and I jumped. " Makoto has been cleared. He's a Jonin and we're going to be assigning him his own team of Genin here soon." I smiled and hugged him. He left and Tsunade made me stay. I waited and then Shikamaru walked in. We looked at each other confused. " Now, I don't know what to do. With the final exam being suspended, it was the opinion of many that none of the students should pass this time around including you two. However, I hear that the third Hokage had nothing but the highest praises for both of your matches. It seems he meant to recommend you two for Chunin. In fact, all those who observed the fights and your proctors felt the same. So, in this case, my opinion doesn't really matter. From this day forth, I hope you two will strive to achieve a level of excellence worthy of those headbands. Congratulations, as of this moment, you two stand a Chunin." My eyes widened and I grinned.

They gave us our vests and I went to my house to make get me new ninja gear. I pulled out the black long sleeve shirt that had protectors on the arms, and they had the Uchiha crest on the arm. I grabbed out a pair of black pants that had a bandage around the right thigh along with my shuriken holster. I put them on and put my hair down. I tied my headband and looked in the mirror. Now, I looked kind of like what father looked like when he was in the police force. Makoto appeared behind me and I spun around.

" I'm a Chunin!" I exclaimed and he smiled at me.

" You've grown so much. You kind of look like your mother too, but with the attitude of your dad." He said and I giggled.

" That sounds like me. Now, I need to go find Shikamaru and then go see Sasuke in the hospital." I said taking off out the window. I found Shikamaru at the barbecue restaurant. When his eyes landed on me they widened.

" Woah." He said making the rest of his team turn to look at me. Ino's eyes widened.

" You changed in the day we've been back!" She exclaimed and I giggled.

" That's because I made Chunin." I said and Shikamaru scooted over so I could sit down.

" So, you and Shikamaru are the only two to make Chunin. That's amazing!" Ino exclaimed and I nodded with a grin. We ate and I grabbed the last piece of meat on the grill and ate it. Choji was about to say something until a waiter came with more meat. Choji tried to get the last piece of meat that Ino cooked and I quickly grabbed it. I looked at both of them and ate it. I watched in amusement as Ino was about to call Choji fat and Shikamaru stopped her.

After we ate, I took off to the hospital to go see Sasuke. When I got there, Makoto was already in the room talking to Sasuke. My eyebrows rose in amusement.
