I walked down the aisle of shelves filled with Christmas tree ornaments, tinsel, fairy lights and baubles trying to find something suitable to decorate our apartment with this year.
You see, this was our first Christmas in our new apartment and I wanted it to be perfect. Percy was here with me, but he wandered off a little while ago and I did try to find him, but I gave up very quickly because this happens way too often.
"Annabeth!"
I whipped my head round at the sound of his voice, but he wasn't anywhere to be seen. "Percy?" I yelled
"Annabeth?"
"Where are you?! I've been looking for you everywhere!"
"Oh, have you? I haven't been gone that long have I?
"About twenty minutes!"
"Oh, sorry!"
"Where are you?!"
"In the aisle!"
"Which aisle?"
"The one with the decorations!"
"Which aisle with the decorations?!"
"Oh, you know, one of the ones!"
I sighed. It was more like having a kid than a boyfriend. "Ok, I'm coming!"
I put down the candy cane ornament I had in my hand and went to look for my boyfriend, which should have been easy considering how tall and obnoxious he is, but it turned out to be almost as hard as any quest is ever been on. Almost.

"Seaweed Brain!" I yelled after about ten minutes.
"Yeah?"
"Where the fuck are you?!?!"
Just at that moment I turned around and Percy ran into me, his arms full of blue ornaments.
"Percy! What in Hades?"
"What?"
I squinted up at his hair and dusted a bit of blue tinsel off with my hand.
"What's with all the blue?"
"I like blue,"
"I know but, please can we have some other colours, too? I mean we already have a blue tree, what more could you want?"
"But it's blue, you can never have too much blue."
I leaned forward and cupped his face in my hands and said,"Yes, Kelp-Face you can. Now can you please get other colours as well?"
He sighed and pulled away from me,"Fine,"
"Thank you."
He walked away mumbling about how blue was the best and there never could be too much blue. The guy was 18 for gods' sake. I just smiled at him and turned to look at the fairy lights, but he came back seconds later with one tiny, red bauble atop of the pile of blue ornaments and tinsel.
"Very funny," I said,"Now lose at least half of those blue ornaments and find some others."
He stared at me,"Half?!"
"Half."
"What about a quarter?"
"Half."
"A third?"
"Half."
"Fine," he grumbled.
I walked over to him and kissed him slowly. When I pulled away, he looked completely dazed. I smiled happily. "You love me really," I breathed.
"Uh huh," he replied,
"Now go find some other ornaments,"
"Uh huh." He turned away from me slowly and walked back down the aisle.
I turned back to the fairy lights. "Ha! Take that, McLean. Who needs charmspeak?"
