The Story of Us
Epilogue
*About 2 Years Later*
Caleb, Sky, and I walked across the campus of Texas State. As soon as Sky and I got our acceptance letters, we both knew this was the place for us. Both of my parents were alumni here, so it was expected of me.
But also, Caleb was here.
“Over there is the male athletes dorms.” Caleb pointed out to me and Sky. “So stay away from there.” He added, giving my hand that he was holding a squeeze.
“C’mon, I’m single and this is college. The whole point is hooking up with the hot athletes.” Sky said, in a whiney tone.
“I wasn’t talking to you. Feel free to go over there. But if I see my girl even one hundred yards with in there, we’re going to have a problem.” Caleb replied. I rolled my eyes at him.
“Why would I even want some college jock when I have you?” I told him, trying to sound wickedly sweet.
“I could think of some reasons.” Sky snickered. Caleb shot her a glare, and gave me a quick peck. We continued exploring the campus, and Caleb pointed out all the “must knows.”
“So where is our dorm at again?” I asked Sky. She pulled a square of paper out of her back pocket, and unfolded it.
“Building D, Room 226.” Sky replied, the putting the paper back into her pocket. “I got the key to it with me.” Sky added.
“I know exactly where that is.” Caleb piped in. “Let’s go.” I smiled at the two of them.
Sky pulled open the door, revealing our dorm room. It was a no brainier when we requested to be roommates. The three of us stepped inside to examine the place.
The whole room was bland. The walls were painted an off while, and the rug was maroon. All there was two twin beds, with two tiny dressers, a desk that was connected to the wall, and a door that opened to be a closet. I already knew that this place was going to have an entire transformation next week when Sky and I moved our stuff in.
“I want this one!” Sky exclaimed laying down on the bed in the left corner.
Caleb then went, and sat down on the bed that was now officially mine. “I can’t wait for the two of us to break this baby in.” Caleb winks at me.
I feel my face turn red, and her Sky gagging. “Looks like I’ll be requesting a new roommate soon.” Sky laughs sarcastically.
Caleb and I walked hand in hand to the ice cream parlor on campus. I heard someone yell his name behinds us. We both turned around, and spotted Sam. Caleb felt my body tense up next to him. He looked down at me giving me the look.
The look he gives me when he tells me he loves me. The look he gives me when he tells me I’m his one and only. I feel myself relax, and give Sam a smile as she approaches us.
When we get to the ice cream parlor, we get a banana split to share. We pick a little table secluded in the corner of the place.
Caleb took his plastic spoon, loaded it up with ice cream, and then put it in my mouth. I gave him a smile, and then did the same for him.
Caleb leaned across the table, pressing his lips against mine. “I love you.” He whispers, pulling away. “I love you too.” I replied a smile on my face, holding his hand across the table.
And to think, this all started with Caleb being my best friends brother.
