Bloody Rose

Chapter 4

Id heave a sigh as i woke up to him snuggled close into my breast his grip right around my upper body as he slept soundly mumbling something incoherently. I let a small smile play across my lips before frowning jumping up prying myself free from his hold. "SHIT HEY KID GET UP" id scream in his ear as he jumped up with a yelp looking around. I ran to the door peeking out to check to see if the guards were down our hall for the daily rounds. "Come on i need to get you back into your room before they come around with the daily dosage"

I saw him frown as he noticed just where he was again as i snatched him up by his arm yanking him out the room rushing down the hall. "Which rooms yours?" Id watch around frantically as he pointed it out before i rushed over pulling a hidden bobby pin from my clothing to pick his lock pushing him inside. "Lay down, stay put and do as they say i'll see you again during breakfast in about an hour ok" id slowly close the creaky door re-locking it swiftly as i peeked through the gated window to find him moping on his bed in deep thought before i rushed back to my own room.

It seemed likes hours passed as the minutes slowly rolled on through the dawn of a new day just as i heard the familiar clinking of the keys as the cart squeaked effortlessly as the guards pushed it down the halls administering the patients their daily meds for the morning. Moments passed by before it was my turn to receive my meds as the keys jingled upon entry into the keyhole as the loud thunk rang followed by the creak of the heavy metal door as it was opened slowly. A man in a white uniform stepped forward holding a small cup filled with the all to familiar deep cerulean pills i was forced to swallow every morning.

I grimaced as i swallowed the pill all to quickly as it lodged some place located in my diaphragm. Id beat on my chest trying to help the feeling subside, i layed back again staring up at the ceiling as cool gusts of wind danced at the windows in such a way. It almost sounded like soft whispers. Id heave a sigh as i stared at the bared window watching what little leaves that had lodged them selves onto the sill of the outer window as they danced and swayed to eah gust of wind. I liked this feeling it was soothing in this menacing place i called home, i stood stepping up to the window drawing my hand ever near the edge to touch the cool surface of the bars as i drug my fingertips across it to the bottom where they were cemented into concrete wall. My day dreaming had all but halted just as i slowly started slipping my hand through the small gaps as the morning bell rung noting it was time for breakfast.

Quickly drawing my hand back as swiftly as possible i made my way to my door awaiting it to open awaiting a new day to begin. I slowly took a step forward into the blinding light of the hall as the door slowly opened each barefoot landing oh so silently against the cool flooring as i stopped in the middle of the walk way awaiting you to leave your cell as so many others have already done. My long hair whipped around my hips as i was bumped by many of the other patients eager to get to the cafeteria while i stood waiting for your appearance in the ever growing warm hall.

I'd heave a sigh as i started to weave through the crowd over to the doorway of your cell as the guards started encircling the group checking rooms to make sure everyone had left for the cafeteria. "Rubyn?" A frown crept over my face as i spotted a bundle under the covers. "Rubyn its me. I told you i'd come ba-" a small gasp just barely escape from my lips as you within seconds almost tackled me into the ground with a tight embrace your face buried between my breasts just as you had done before. "Geez any harder and you would've pummeled me into the ground" I'd frown noticing how his grip grew tighter as i patted his head running my fingers through his silk like hair. "Easy kid your gonna squish me to death here now hurry up before we miss out on breakfast" I'd give a small smile as his grip loosened immensely enough for me to pry him off and lead the way towards the cafeteria. "Sorry" the words barely audible as he had spoke. "What was that? Couldnt hear you" id stifle a giggle as i toyed with him glancing back. He smiled softly as he ran up to my side saying it once more "i said sorry for....you know almost 'squeezing you to death'" id smile softly down on him as we walked side by side to the cafeteria thinking to myself. 'He's awfully close and clingy today wonder what might have happened with him when i sent him off, was he just lonely or something without me?' id shake my head as i felt my wavy hair shaking at my waist tickling the tresses of my uncovered stomach keeping a giggle hidden as we made our way into the cafeteria not noticing it dying down anytime soon. "Hey uh rubyn right? i dont usually eat much what about you? if you want ill wait in line here with you if you want but otherwise im just going to take my apple and get going to my table by the window"

He shrugged his shoulders as he made his way into line. I took that as a no instead walking over to my lone table closest to the window, the streaks of sunlight roaming over even the darkest parts of the area causing a bleak smile to dance across my lips. As i sat with my back to the window i could feel the rays slowly heating my back. I'd shiver in return turning sideways to feel more of its warmth as i took a bite of my apple speaking to no on in particular but myself. "Wonderful day it is if only i could embrace nature in my own perspective instead of behind these windows". I took another bite as i watched closely out the window blocking out the surrounding sounds along with the crunch of my apple bit between my teeth. Not having noticed rubyns presence across from me a slight tinge of pain in my upper arm brought me back to reality as i shrieked in dismay glaring at him. "OW WTH WAS THAT FOR". He simply stared at me almost in disbelief before responding. "seriously? i was clearly calling your name but you were to busy in lala land to hear me". He shrugged. "So i pinched you quit making such a big deal about it". I lowered my gaze to the table after realizing before shrugging. "Oh well just don't do it so hard next time". I'd chew my lip pouting before i took another bite returning my gaze just outside the windows once more. Not long after i had started to turn away before hearing a faint voice, 'Come' it said. I instantly froze in my spot just having parted my lips for another bite of my apple turning my gaze just outside again repeating in mind. "come? come where?" Assuming i was day dreaming again i lowered the apple from my mouth swinging my legs over the seat as i slowly stood inching toward the window. The voice rang through once more, 'come'. Upon coming closer to the window my brow furrowed in confusion as i reached with my empty hand to touch the glass. The cool feel against my fingertips slowly dissipated as they suddenly seemed to be pushing through, wait..... Pushing through?. I gasped as i looked down at my hand dropping the apple seeing the tips of my fingers on the other side of the glass ever growing longer as more of my hand pushed through. "w..what is this? whats happening to me?" id question frantically as my hand finally made its way outside before i felt the pull again as more of my arm slid through causing me to fall against the metal, pressing my other hand against the cool metal frames only for it to slowly sink like the other had did before.

   Id look back to rubyn as he watched in horror as my body was practically sliding through the wall of glass like water. Already having my elbows fully engulfed my face was forcefully pressed against the glass as I could feel my chest being exposed to the warmth of the sun from outside, my shoulders eventually creeping through. I threw my head back in hopes to pull myself but the force was to much as I lurched forward my whole upper body hanging outside of the glass as I flung my hands out to catch myself starting yo hyperventilate, tears starting to streak my cheeks deciding in that moment to try and pull the rest of my body out. I quickly grabbed hold of a patch of grass just out of arms reach before pulling with all my might failing, only able to pull up some grass in the process. The tears stung my eyes and blurred my vision terribly as I thought to think another way out of this situation, twisting my body almost ackwardly to look back insidr of the cafeteria seeing a crowd gathering around as I was slowly able to turn to look up at the sky feeling a sudden relief as my bottom dropped to the lush grass leaving only part of my legs dangling between the air and glass.

   Sprawling my arms out I looked up to the sky in a daze. The breeze was soothing, and calming. I parted my lips as if to say something as I was finally freed from the glass to dazed to bother moving from my spot until the pounding on the window alerted me, bolting up I saw rubyn pointing to the guards trying to holler something in warning to me. Unable to hear I stood walking the glass in hopes to hear better before the sound of footsteps could be heard. I whipped around in fright my hair slightly blocking my vision in the moment as I saw a few guards charging at me.
