"X001" at the sound of my 'name' being called I perked my head up. I was in a containment room, which consisted of basic living furniture. All in white. On the other side of the one way mirror I heard Jackson. My assistance manager. "Yes?" I asked reluctantly sitting on the bed , the room was below zero. I was used to it by now. Being an cryokinetic kid, made me durable to below freezing weather. Not many regular people come into my room unless they had too. For usual maintenance. "Time for training kid" he said. Jackson always had this peaceful voice. He was the usual one to calm me down during anything rough.
I got up, headed to the main door, and waited for the main locks and seals to click out of place. One the other side was Jackson, in his familiar black turtle neck and long scientist lab coat . He had a kind face, with black curly hair and chocolate chip eyes. "Hey kid" he said. Tucking a long strand of long white hair away from my face and behind my ear. "Ready to go?" He said, I knew I had no other choice. " Yep" I said. And we began to walk to the training room, which was wide spaced with many machines and a large fighting mat, for common training. In the back was an even larger dome like arena. I liked that place the most, it's where I got to practice my abilities.
"Since Serena is out today I'll be looking over you're training" he stated. He left behind the protective cased room covered in a large bullet proof one sided mirror. " okay can you make you're way to the large mat and I'll set up the first figure" he ordered. I walked to the mat , waiting for further instructions. "Ready?" Jackson called over the intercom. I looked at the class smiled and held up the 'okay' sign, something Jackson taught me when I was little. I looked towards the other side of the mat, a figure, a male who was bulky and seemed solidified stood on the other side. A new project the 'system' as I called this facility was working on. "Let's work on the basics X001" when he used that name I knew it was time to get serious." Okay, begin " he said. And the figure lurched forward at a reasonable speed.
I dodged his first attack which was a huge punch, and kicked him straight in the stomach. It didn't do much. The last figure I had seen was smaller. So I guess this type of attack wouldn't work on somebody this size. But he tumbled a little. Jackson must be going easy on me. I looked at the glass. I could feel his disappointment in my analyzation of this figure. I had to think. The figure though didn't grant me that much time as he kept swinging. I looked at him more rolling in summersaults, and dodging. Then it came to me. I had to take him off his balance. I ran forward at him, then ran the other direction, which he didn't expect. And tripped him. Which wasn't easy and brought pain to my ankle. But then he fell back some what and I kicked him hard in the chest. Making him fall like a large tree. I stomped on his face while kicking his sides.
Until Jackson called it off.I heard him writing on his clipboard. Probably taking in what I did in this fight. 'Not good in matches against differing body sizes' I thought to myself. The figure dissolved into the mat, to regular people I imagined outside the facility might have found it horrifying. I did too a little. But I had grown accustomed to it by now. "Okay kid big finale" he said coming out of the safe room. He gestured me to follow him into the dome room. I smiled like a giddy child. This was my favorite part of the day. Getting to freeze the next opponent was easier then using my body to kick some butt. Jackson entered another safe room .
A figure a female, who was the same body weight type as me stood on the other end of the mat. I looked at her smiling. " This time don't freeze the entire room, janitors hate having to mop everything up" Jackson said. I could feel his smile. " No guarantees" I said.
I froze the ground making the figure stuck. And then, used it to my will and skated almost across the glassy like floor. And froze the entire figure, and shattered it into pieces watching it dissolve into the mat. I stood there satisfied with this easy match. Jackson stood closing the safe door. A smile plastered on his face. "You're improving X001" he stated. I smiled taking in his compliment. " I think you've earned so out-time" he congratulated me. I smiled giddy as a child. "Thank you!" I said and we left the training area.

Outside there was a garden. Still surrounded by four major walls, but still the garden was magnificent. All kinds of flowers were arranged. And varying colors splattered all around. There was the fountain with an angel at the top holding a bowl pouring water into the lower basin. I sat on a bench looking at the roses. I took their sweet sent in. There wasn't very much time in my schedule to come out here. Jackson stood a few feet away. Smiling. He liked it when I was out here. I think he hated being boxed up inside there too. Well most of the day. He did go home at 10:30 every day. To come home to who? I don't know. But I enjoyed the time we had together.Suddenly the lights blared and sirens wailed. Jackson pulled out his walkie. And I looked at him nervously. " We have X002" the person on the other end , it sounded like Alice. I looked up at Jackson nervously. " code 8" she said. Jackson looked at me worriedly. " okay kid, I need to get you back to you're room and deal with this." " Jackson who's X002?" I asked. " no time kid , people are getting hurt" he grabbed my wrist tugging me along to my room. I was scared. Was there another like me? And why were people getting hurt?. Jackson sealed my door shut leaving me with my thoughts , I knew nothing good was to come.
