[Michael]
It's been a week since I've been released from the hospital and honestly ain't shit else been on my mind but finding Alonzo and burying he six feet under. The police kept asking did I know who shot me but I lied because I wanted to this nigga Alonzo on my own.
"Baby are you listening." Aubrianna said nudging my shoulder as we sat on the bed.
"Yeah baby." I lied. I ain't heard a word she said since she started talking.
She rolled her eyes and continued to do her homework as she sat on the bed in her sweats and a black sports bra. Her hair was pulled up in a curly bun.
"Why you acting like that bae?" I asked pulling her onto my lap.
She struggled to get away from me but I held on tighter. "You been preoccupied since you got out the hospital so I'll leave you to whatever you were thinking about." She pouted.
"I ain't been preoccupied just been stressed."
She turned around so her legs were straddling my waist. "Stressed about what?" She rubbed her thumb over my cheek.
"This whole situation bae." I held her waist.
"You should've just told the police instead you trynna kill him yourself." Aubri ranted. "You could get yourself hurt again Michael then what?"
"I'm not about to forget the fact that YOUR bitch ass ex shot me." Yelled.
"So all this is my fault?" She got up and threw her hands on her hip.
"Why you putting words in my mouth." I stood up. "I ain't say no shit like that."
"That's what you just implied." She rolled her eyes.
"Man whatever." I grabbed my phone and made my way into the kitchen just to think.
Aubrianna followed closely behind. "Michael I don't understand why you have to be so fucking difficult like damn."
I looked at her puzzled. I couldn't believe she was trynna defend this nigga after everything he put her through and she just want him to go to jail? I felt like I was in the fucking twilight zone.
"Why you trynna defend this nigga after what he did to you?" I shouted. "You told me that nigga raped you and killed your son and you just want him to live?"
I had never seen her turn that color red before. "Michael you don't know a damn thing about what he did and don't you dare bring my son into this like you know what it feels like to lose somebody." She yelled in face.
I clenched my teeth together. "And you don't know a damn thing either because I lost two people that I cared about to." Her face softened. "Yeah watch what the fuck you say before you talk out the side of yo' neck." I stormed off.
[Aubriana]
I felt like shit. I never knew Michael lost someone but then again he never mentioned it. I sighed before making my way to the bedroom to see Michael sitting on the bed staring at a picture.
"Michael." I whispered. He looked up at then back down at the picture. This only made me feel worse. I walked over to his side of the bed to him staring at the picture I found a couple of months ago but never asked him about.
"Mikey I'm sorry." I apologized sitting next to him.
"You good ma."
I stared at the picture. "Who was she?"
He smiled a little and for some reason I felt jealous that even this simple picture could make him smile. Now I regretted asking the question because I had the feeling she meant more to him then I did.
