Pairing up

Natsu's POV
The first activity for class today was a training and battle exercises, so we got to go outside. Our teacher told us to pair up and for some reason Lucy grabbed my attention. I don't know why, but she makes me smile. I walked up to her and grabbed her hand.

"Partners?" I asked

"Ehh~ o-ok" she says and I lead her back to where I was standing before. I didn't know at the time, but I was still holding her hand. I felt like I could do anything. It made me feel... Free.

"Natsu?" Lucy asked looking at my.

"Yeah" I say letting go of her hand.

"Are you ok? You look a little red" she said leaning in closer.

"I-I'm fine" I struggle to say. She leans in closer and placed a hand on my cheek. It's so warm I thought as she slid it to my forehead.

"You might have a fever" she said as she got a little closer. She looked into my eyes as her breath brushed my lips.

"LOOK OUT" a familiar voice called, snapping me back to reality.

Lucy's POV
As I was checking Natsu's forehead for a fever, I heard  Juvia yell 'LOOK OUT' as a ball of water shot towards Natsu, hitting the back of his head and pushing him towards me. Our lips crashed together causing shock to cover our faces. Why isn't he moving I thought as others just stared. We broke apart at the same time and Natsu kept looking at me with wise eyes. Juvia walked over to us with a blush on her face.

"Uh s-sorry about that, Juvias aim must be a little off" she laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of her head.

"I think Natsu needed the shower" Gray said standing next to Juvia.

"What did you say ice princess?" Natsu yelled snapping out of his trance.

"You want to go?" Gray asked getting angry. As quick as they were to start the fight, Erza was quick to finish it.

"You two better stop acting like children" she scolded the two.

"S-sorry" they both stuttered rubbing their heads. I couldn't help but giggle.

Juvias POV
Ok so the hole 'aim was off' thing was a lie, Juvias aim is never off as you just witnessed. Gray-sama and Juvia were partners and he bet me that Juvia couldn't hit Natsu in the head from so far away. Juvia didn't think they would accidentally kiss!? Maybe Gray-sama knew Juvia thought looking at Gray-sama.

"What?" He asked looking bored.

"N-nothing" Juvia said turning around and walking away. Before I could get anymore distance between us he grabbed my arm.

"You can't go... I mean, I still need my partner, right?" He asked in a laid back expression. I just nodded and we went back to practicing.

Natsus POV
T-that was... Luce and I... Wow I thought as the memory replayed in my head. I was snapped out of my thoughts as Luce and I started our battle.

"Open gate of the lion, Loke!" She yelled holding out a key. As the key glowed, so did her clothes.

"Hey honey is this man bothering you?" A cocky guy asked as he stood next to Luce with a rose.

"Loke this is just a practice battle, not life or death" she said as she took the rose.

"Even though I would win" I mumbled under my breath, enough for him to hear.

"You want to see who wins?" He asked looking me up and down.

"Natsu this isn't a real fight you know" Luce said stepping in front of me. I didn't notice but her clothes had changed. She looks... Really pretty I thought as Loke smirked.

"Awe Luce is scared your gonna get hurt huh?" He said smirking.

"Only i can call her Luce and I don't need her looking out for me!" I said throwing a fire fist at him. He dodges with ease as his hand is engulfed with a yellow light. He strikes me in the back causing me to fly through the air, crash landing onto the ground.

"Why you!" I yell running towards him.

"Bring it" he smirks angering me more.

"Roar of the fire dragon!" I yell as he was consumed by the fire. I smirk as the smoke starts to clear. Impossible I thought as Loke emerges unharmed. He took a step forward and threw another punch towards me.

"That's enough you two" Juvia says stepping in front of the attack just in time.

"Well I guess I'm done then" Loke said and disappeared.

"Jerk" I say as I start to walk past Lucy but didn't make it. Instead I collapsed and she caught me.

"Come on Natsu, let me fix those wounds" she said, placing one of my arms over her shoulders.

"Yeah... Fine" I say walking with her. Her sent is sweet🌸
