This is where he found her, her small broken body. The once blonde wavy locks flowing now sprawled across her face. Damp with dried blood on it's tips. Her eyes closed, her face pale. Specks of blood in the corner of her lips. Her fingers withered, red and withered.

His eyes widened in horror. His love, the girl he left, covered in her own blood. 'Wake up, wake up. Pl-pl-please. Wake up.' The tears streaming down his cheeks  break up his words. His words aren't enough. He falls to his knees, hands run through his hair sharply. He pulls and tenses, not caring for his actions. He gets closer to her, his arms scooping her body. Her limp body. Pulling the mobile out of his pocket. He dials the three digit number.

'Hello. Help me please please. I need an ambulance. Please, just send one. 24 Baker Street. Please. Please.' His words barely letting the other woman on the other end speak. He can't let her because the more words that are said, the less time he has of saving her. He hangs up and prays. He take his crucifix in between his thumb, index and middle finger, bringing it to his lips and muttering words. Anything, anything that could save her.

Her body is taken from him and lain on a stretcher. He watches as she is taken away. His heavy feet carrying him to the ambulance, taking a seat next to her and holding her hand.

'It's okay, it's all going to be okay.' He whispers as if to reassure the unconscious girl, when really he needed it himself.

No. No it won't. It won't be okay because you left her. She needed you and you ran away for some stupid job. He probably touched her, hurt her. No. Stop. She's going to be okay. The doctors can help her, it's their job. It was his job, look what he's done. He's broken her, he's taken all he could and now she's fallen. I can't save her anymore, I could never save her. I could merely give her the power to fix herself, this time is different. I don't know what to do anymore, I need her.

Lord, anyone,
Please I beg you, save her. Save my Angel. Cleanse her body, wipe her clean, rid her of this blood. Kiss her wounds for I cannot, for I have caused enough. Ju-Just save her please. I bow down, forever grateful I shall be.

Save my Angel. Save my Grace.

One look, dark room
Meant just for you
Time moved too fast
You play it back
Buttons on a coat
Lighthearted joke
No proof, not much
But you saw enough
Small talk, he drives
Coffee at midnight
The light reflects
The chain on your neck
He says look up
And your shoulders brush
No proof, one touch
You felt enough.

The stretcher gets lifted out as I stare at her. No flinching, no twitching, no blinking comes from her, just a short irregular breath. What has he done? They wheel her into the light, I can't go in. I can't walk with her. They tell me to wait in the room full of people. My eyes scan the room, guessing their stories as they guess mine. She's my Angel and I am her Star.

You can hear it in the silence, silence
You can feel it on the way home, way home
You can see it with the lights out, lights out
You are in love, true love
You are in love

I want her close to me, I want her in my arms,
I want her breath on my neck,
Her hair tickling my lips, as I kiss the top of her head,
I miss her eyes wide as she watches a movie, allowing me to inspect her.
I want her to entice me, enthral me, embrace me,
I want her.

She needs me and I need her. I hate him, I know he must've done something. She was fine, more than fine. She was perfect, is perfect.

Morning, his place
Burn toast, Sunday
You keep his shirt
He keeps his word
And for once you let go
Of your fears and your ghosts
One step, not much
But it said enough
You kiss on sidewalks
You fight and you talk
One night he wakes
Strange look on his face
Pauses, then says
You're my best friend
And you knew what it was
He is in love

My left hand runs through my hair again but this time it stays there. Whilst the other taps a nervous beat on my right leg. The beat that is our song. I notice my hand is pale and shaking.

You can hear it in the silence, silence
You can feel it on the way home, way home
You can see it with the lights out, lights out
You are in love, true love

And so it goes
You two are dancing in a snow globe round and round
And he keeps the picture of you in his office downtown
And you understand now why they lost their minds and fought the wars
And why I've spent my whole life trying to put it into words

As the time passes more and more people disappear. A dead father, a cancerous mother, a kid with the flu. But no news of my Angel. I hear the scuff of a rubber sole on the plastic floor. My head stays down as I see the white coated man in the teal outfit standing before the waiting room, tapping his clipboard with his pen in his right hand as his left adjusts the stethoscope.

You can hear it in the silence, silence
You can feel it on the way home, way home
You can see it with the lights out, lights out
You are in love, true love
You're in love

'Mr Styles.'

Oh how they mighty have fallen.
