Henry huffed as he looked around the diner. Everyone looked miserable, Cora really did a number on the unfortunate people who got dragged into this mess. This time was cursed, a curse Henry didn't even think was possible, it had taken him 3 years but he finally figured out what his 'granny' had created. A HeartBreak Curse.
Every relationship was doomed in this town, no matter how true the love it was not going to work. The only reason his mothers thought they were together was because their love was strong enough to create that, a memory, just like it did for his grandparents. The only problem was that the curse didn't just end the relationship, it destroyed it. People once in love now laothed one another. Any hidden feelings were trapped, in Cora's vault, along with their hearts.
Henry needed to think of a way to get into that vault. If he could get just one of his mothers hearts back then that mother would begin to fight, they were both stubborn and so Henry had no doubts that the one he got would not give up. By the sound of his mothers sobs last night she still cared, and then that little kiss from his mama showing she still cared to, but Cora had taken away their fight and Henry needed it back.
"Alright kid, what's got you popping a vein?"
Henry jumped slightly when his blonde mother sat in the booth across from him.
"I have to go for dinner at 'granny's' house tonight."
Henry did try to say that hame without venom but it was impossible. Emma laughed and then covered it up with a cough.
"Now, c'mon kid. She isn't that bad."
Henry was not convinced. The sound of Emma's voice and her face scrunching up at the end told him what she really felt towards the woman.
"Yeah. Well try spending hours with her. I don't get it, whenever we go there mum just ends up crying, and yet we still go round"
Henry saw Emma's eyebrows furrow in concern and then watched hiw mothers jaw clench. If they were back home, anyone who made mum cry would end up with a blade through their heart, his mama never let his mum cry and yet she cryed every night here.
"Have you told your mother how you feel?"
Henry shook his head. Emma was trying to recover and was failing...miserably. She was trying to look unconcerned and yet Henry could see pain in her eyes.
"I don't want to upset her anymore. She tries her best to hide it, but, I see the slight mascara stain on one of the pillows in the living room, the way all her shirt sleeves are slightly darker than the rest of the fabric."
Henry looked up at Emma and could see tears threatening to fall from her eyes. Emma quickly got up.
"I'm sorry kid, I gotta run. But talk to your mother."
Emma was gone like that. Henry had seen those tears, he knew his mother still cared. Three years of constantly talking about how unhappy Regina was and he had finally gotten through. At the beginning Emma would just shake it off, say how Regina had done it to herself. Now the blonde was actually crying over it. He was so close to saving everyone, he just needed to get into that vault, return Emma's heart and then she would let her emotions be free.
"I've told you not to speak to that swan women."
Henry rolled his eyes, put on a fake smile and looked up at his 'granny'.
"I got bored waiting."
Cora huffed.
"Yes well. Come along, I need your help with the cooking. Your mum is going to be late as she is needed at the office."
