I grabbed my bag quickly off the coach, I wanted to leave the house before my mother woke up, but with an ear splitting screech coming from the wooden floor below my feet, my mother screamed my name "MICHELLE!"

I groaned to myself and threw my book bag down on the couch. I walked into her room and stood next to her bed.

"Where are you going this early?" she asked.

"Ma, you know I have to go to school" I mentally rolled my eyes.

"And you was just going to leave without checking to see if I was still breathing or not? That's how you treat you mother?"

I then instantly started to feel bad, she always knew how to send me on this guilt trip.

"No ma, I just didn't want to wake you, I know you need your rest" I sighed sadly.

"Whatever go to school" she rolled her eyes at me.

I frowned. "Um ma, I won't be home later, soccer conditioning has started, and I don't know what time I will be home" I lied.

"I don't care Michelle, leave before you have to walk to school!" she said harshly.

I sighed and walked out her room. I hated lying to my mother because I was scare that she would find out that I was lying and kill me. But then again I couldn't tell her that I was staying after school to hang out with a group of Lesbians I just meet yesterday.

I grabbed my bag off the couch and left the house.

I started to walk towards my bus stop. I plugged my earphones in my ear and let Pandora choose my faith.

As I walked I saw what looked like someone running towards me. I frowned my eyebrows, as the person got closer, I realized who it was. She was about to run right past me.

"Joe'an?" I pulled one of my earbuds out.

She stopped running and frowned her eyebrows, when she realized it was me, she walked closer to me.

"Oh Hey, Mich" she panted.

"Hey.... Um what are you running from? Why you down here?" I asked.

"Oh um..." she scratched the back of her neck and chuckled nervously. "I was walking to school, when a dog started chasing me out of nowhere, I ran and I ended up running in the opposite direction of school, now I'm here, where ever here is. It's kind of embarrassing" she flushed.

I stared at her for a second. Before I started laughing.

"You got chased by a dog" I laughed. She rolled her eyes and chuckled.

"Why you here?" she asked.

"I live down the street, I am walking to my bus stop" I explained.

She nodded. "Well, I don't want you to miss your bus, I'll see you at school. If I ever figure out how to get there" she said looking around.

"Come on, school is this way" I turned around and started walking.

"Wait... what?" Joe started to walk with me.

"I'll show you the way to school. It's not far from here"

"You're going to walk with me?" she asked.

I shrugged. "I never really liked riding the bus, it's just convenient, you know. "

"Yeah.... Thanks" she smiled slightly and I smiled back.
