"911 what's your em-" 

"OH GOD PLEASE HELP, S-SHE ISN'T-- I DON'T THINK SHE IS BREATHING PLEASE SEND SOMEONE!" I cried into the phone.

"Okay Ma'am remain calm. Can you please tell me who isn't breathing?" The 911 dispatcher asked .

"M-My mom, s-he isn't breathing, I came back and she wa- please send someone, please I-I need her"  my real tears flowed down my cheeks as I lied to the dispatcher.

"Okay ma'am I am trying to dispatching someone to your currant location right now, can you give me your exact location to speed up the process?"

"Ye-yes, um 672 North 44th street." 

"Thank you..... can you provide me with your name ma'am." 

"Mi-Michelle, how long are they going to take, She needs help. I can't help her, please sh-e she isn't breathing, what am I supposed to do" I cried. 

" Someone is on the way Michelle, you said you just got home?" She asked. 

"Y-yes" 

"Can you tell me what happened when you got home, and what you did before you called 911" 

"I-I came in the room and she was just laying in the bed, not responding. I walked around the bed to see her face and she-- she has vomit coming out of her mouth, I tried to check her pulse b-but... but I couldn't find one. I think I did it wrong. Please tell me I did it wrong. I --- I am only 16 I- I need her she can't ... she can't---" 

"I understand you are scared Michelle, but I need you to help me with something okay?" 

"O-Okay" 

"I need you to look around the room and see if you can find any type of drugs, pills, needles, does your mother have a drug abuse history?" 

"W-what no! I- I don't think so, she takes medication but they are prescribed. S-She doesn't do drugs!" 

"Okay Michelle, Did you take a look around the room for me?" 

"Um... yes I don't s--" 

"Michelle? ..... Did you find anything? ...Michelle?" 

"I-- I found an empty pill bottle, it's her medication bottle, she couldn't ... she took all of them, I don't see them anywhere. she took the--them all oh God. MOM!" 

"Michelle, I need you to relax, the paramedics are only 30 seconds out okay. Is there anyone else in the house with you?" 

"Y-yes my friends, w-we, It's homecoming night" 

"Okay can you have your friends open the door for the paramedics when they get there" 

"I-I think they are already here, I am gonna go -get it, thank you. Thank you so much!"

"No problem Michelle, The paramedics and the police will take over from here" 

I ended the call and walked out of the room into the living room where the girls waited. 

"Ya'll know the story right?" Brianna asked. 

We all nodded. 


"Don't slip up" She warned just before there was a knock on the door. In that very second I asked myself how the hell did the night get this far...
