(A.N. I'm titling ever story with the day that they were written only because we didn't have to give them a legitimate title when they were written. If I write a short story out of class, I may write a title but if I'm lazy I'm only putting the date. End A.N.)

Third day without sleep... and there would probably be a fourth... These dreams have been bothering me. They are all the same thing over and over again and I have no idea what's causing them. They all start out as one of my normal mornings, waking up and getting ready for school.

"Kylie! Come downstairs, breakfast is ready! Also, the news is on!"

My family is odd and thinks that it's important that we watch the news. They say that if you know what's going on in the news, you'll know the "right" way of living life.

"Coming!" I would call to her as I proceed down they stairs. I would then sit down at the table while I wait for her to serve breakfast.

"BREAKING NEWS! Scientists have discovered the approximate date for the end of the world!" I then start thinking everything is fake. A scientist would then show up on the television and I would think he's insane. He then proceeds to explain how it was real and when the end would take place.

I just sat in disbelief. The dream would fast forward and bring me to complete darkness and a feeling as if I was, well, sinking. Why that is, I have no idea. I couldn't have been drowning because I didn't feel wet and my lungs weren't filling with water. Although, I felt a suffocating feeling.

I'd then start to panic. After panicking for what seemed like an hour, I'd wake up drenched in sweat and hyperventilating. Also my alarm clock would go off.

Now, I've been staying up all night, trying to avoid the dreams. I try to sleep tonight, maybe the dreams have stopped. Due to my sleep deprivation, I quickly fall asleep.

My dream has began, and I wake up and go downstairs for breakfast, like the other dreams. But this time, it feels different. How it feels different, I don't know. I walk downstairs but instead of walking into my living room, I'm in a wasteland full or red-orange sand.

I see a man in a white lab coat; he looks like a scientist. Now that I think about it, he is a scientist; the one from the news! He stands in the middle of the wasteland, with the red-orange sand blowing around him in a swirl.

The man speaks in a monotone voice, but I can't understand him. It's as if his voice is so tedious that it becomes another language. He sounds so much like a robot that I could swear he is a robot.

As I try to make out what he is saying, someone comes sprinting out of nowhere and pushes the man down. He then trips. The boy looks familiar, possibly one of my friends from school. He quickly gets up, brushes himself off, and yells "RUN! OR YOU'LL SINK!"

I break off in a sprint without thinking. He turns towards my way and starts to run next to me. I realize who it is, Jason. "Kylie, run faster! You're starting to sink!" He cries out.

I try to pick up the pace, but my body suddenly feels fatigued. I stop running and collapse on the ground. Jason screams so loud, his voice cracks. "KYLIE!"

I try to get up, but I'm already sinking. My body feels so worn out, I just want to sleep. Jason reaches out to me but my hand goes under right before he got to me. All he can do is scream my name as the darkness consumes me. I start to accept the calmness of sinking but then I start to panic and scream.

I can still hear Jason screaming "Kylie!", as I jolt awake. My brother is shaking me and yelling "Kylie!" He stops shaking me and I sit take in my surroundings. I'm in my room, and there's no sand or screaming Jason's. And luckily, no robot scientist.

"You look like you've seen a ghost." My brother says, concerned. "You're as white as a sheet." I rub the tiredness from my eyes.

"Na, I just had a bad dream." I yawn.

"Obviously, you're screaming woke me up. My ears started to bleed." He jokes. "It looks like it's been raining in hear, you're drenched in sweat."

"Yeah..." I wasn't going to tell him what the dream was about, even if he asked. I didn't want him to worry, he worries about me too much so I don't need to give him anything more to be concerned about.

"Is it about something I should be concerned about?" He asks.

"No, just a normal bad dream. Running away from monsters and stuff." I yawn again. "Well I'm going back to b-" I'm cut off by the irritating sounds of my alarm clock.

"Nevermind." I sigh.

"I was just about to tell you that it's time for school." He chuckles.

"Yeah. Well get out." I shove him away. "I need to change out of these wet clothes!" I laugh and push him out the door. "Bye!" I shut the door.

"Bye!" His muffled voice comes from the other side of the door.

I slide down the door and sit on the floor. I sigh. This is going to be a long day...

(END OF SHORT STORY UNO! I hope you guys liked it! Just so you know, I edited it a bit from the original story because it needed to be more detailed and there was some grammatical errors, which is typical. Sorry it's late, again, school takes up a lot of my time. I feel like doing a word count thing at the end of each chapter so that's what I'm going to do. Also, the word count doesn't count the author's notes. Bye my lovely trees for now!)
