It has been days cense Victor, The leader of these Bandits, captured me from my home in Camelot. I have been well. They feed me three times at day. I have an bed, table, an warm hearth. Everything. Victor has been nice to me. He sees me ever so often. Blazer, the second in command, has became an good friend. Who would have guessed that he use to love in Camelot as well! He never told me about his family. He refused to. I wonder why. Anyways, I miss you father. I wish you well.
I closed my small diary and set it on the table. I sighed. Its really has been days. Nobody tried to come find me. I hope my father is alive. I hope the king has sent men to find me. If what Victor told me was true, then Arthur would have sent an army after Victor and his ruthless followers. I sighed again and rested my head in my book. My door slammed open. I bolted out of my seat. There stood Victor. His eyes hard. The sound of agonizing cries sounded threw the walls. Canons fired.
"Come!" He said, anger flared in his voice. He walked to me, grabbed my arms, and pushed me out the door. Still holding on to my arm, we ran down the hallways. The Soldiers screams pierced my ears. There screams echoed down the halls.
When we reached the throne room, dead soldiers and bandits lay all over the floor. Their bodies were twisted in inhuman ways. Blood dripped from them and spilt all over the stone floor. Their were an few who were still fighting. Three soldiers and an bandit. The bandit didn't last. When we entered, the bandit was slaughtered. Victor pulled me in front, turned me around to face the soldiers, and put an knife to my throat. The soldiers were in their positions, ready to strike.
"Take one step forward and the fair lady dies!" Yelled Victor. The soldiers stayed their ground.
"There is no reason for this, Victor." An solider, followed my two more entered the room. The had short black hair that reached to his jawline. His eyes were brown. His face was weary and he was muscular. He wears the royal armor and the cloak of an Knight of the Round table.
"Lancelot. Well, isn't this an surprise. I never fancied seeing you again." Replied Victor, pulling me closer to him.
"Victor, come now. You kidnapped the kings best friend. You will see me again." Lancelot replied, moving closer to us.
"Come closer and she will get it!" Victor yelled. I closed my eyes, startled my the sudden yelling. Lancelot stopped. His eyes full of sorrow. Or was it sympathy? I do not know.
"Victor, my old friend, this isn't you. What happened to you all those years ago?" Asked Lancelot. His voice was full of sorrow and worry. There was more to the story. Victor gritted his teeth. His hand gripped the knife. His body went ridged.
"Victor!" Yelled an voice. Bandits, an good twenty of them, ran in. Weapons ready. They charged at the soldiers. Taking them one by one. An archer shot Lancelot in the chest, mer inches from his heart. He stumbled and fell to the ground. He gasped for breath. Blazer ran to us.
"Sir, Come! We have the horses ready for you! Come!" He said. Victor sheathed his knife, gripped my arm, and followed Blazer outside.When we mounted the horses and made it half way down the road, the palace was a blaze. I, riding behind Blazer, watched as the Knights cheered in victory. They cheered and celebrated. I looked back at Victor. His face was grim with anger. No other Bandit, besides Us three and three more, escaped the raid. It was an great loss for Victor. He didn't like it. I know that.
By nightfall, we stopped at an small cave ten miles from the main road. It was small with room for is all. It was an good fifty feet wide and fifty feet long. An mile east of the cave was an big hill that showed an good view of the land.
We tied and brushed our horses by a few trees near by.
One of the Bandits, by the name of Ash, set an small fire inside the cave. The bandits, including Blazed, sat around the fire. The talked about how they will murder their enemies for the deaths of their fellow friends in crime.
Victor, leaned against the wall and stared out into the night. I watched him. His jaw tight. His eyes focused. Him thinking. My heart fluttered. I looked away. He is a ruthless bandit. He can't possibly think the same. I sighed, stood up, and walked out of the cave. The bandits stopped talking and watched me leave. Their stares followed me up the hill.
I sat down at the top and stared at the sky. Stars from billion miles away shinned brightly in the dark blanket that surrounds the earth. No moon in sight. I sighed and closed my eyes. An slight breeze kissed my cheek. I let out an deep breath. Enjoying this while it lasts.
"Enjoying the view I see." Said Victor. He was sitting next to me. I must not have heard him. He was smiling slightly. He was tired. I could see it faintly on his face.
"Yeah. I believe so. You? What are you doing here? I thought you would get mad and make me come back to camp."
"Well, this is an exemption. Thank Blazer that I am letting you do this." He replied, looking at the sky. We were silent for an while. Watching the sky.
"Can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Were you and Sir. Lancelot friends somehow?" I asked, looking at him. He gritted his teeth.
"That is something I would rather not talk about." He stood up and grabbed my arm. "Your coming back to camp. Now." He ordered. As he pulled me down the hill, towards camp, i started to feel bad for asking. Sympathy fluttered in my breasts.Victor called the first watch. Everybody spread out on the cold floor. No blankets. We had nothing. I choose the far right corner in the back. I sat in the corner and rested my head on the wall on my right. Victor leaned against his favorite wall and watched for intruders. I slowly fell into an deep sleep.
~~~Victor~~~
I called for first watch that night. All that happened today burned into my head and clouded my judgments.
As everybody slept, I thought how Kate looked at me with sympathy. Did she really feel sorry for something she didn't know anything about? Dose she care? No! She couldn't have. She cant. I should not think these inappropriate thoughts. I am an Bandit. I am an Leader. Well, I am more then that. I am something that even my closest fiend, Blazer, doesn't know about. I know somethings that I shouldn't know about. I look back at my group. Everybody is asleep. Good. I sneak out and untie my horse.It took me an good hour to ride to my destination. My old home when I was by a boy. It was a abandoned house in the middle of the woods. I dismount and enter the house. It was empty. The furniture was old and torn. The floors were slowly going bad. The roof was weak. Everything was in dust. Including old memories. I shake my head and sigh.
"You seem weary, Victor." Said an voice. I turn to see an woman. She wore an black, tattered dress. Her dark hair, once full of beauty, was knotted and tangled. She had pale skin and dark eyes.
"Morgana." I replied, hand on my sword, ready to strike.~~~Kate~~~
I awoke to my name being called. I opened my eyes to see Blazer standing over me.
"Victor ordered you to get up and eat. Make it quick. We are leaving in an hour." He said, walking to the fire. I rubbed my eyes and stood up.
Victor wasn't here. I walked outside and looked around. No Victor. I ran to the hill. No Victor. Where could he have gone to?In an hour, we were saddled the horses and galloping down the road. Victor never returned. Also, his horse wasn't their either.
The sun was shinning brightly in the blue sky. The air was warm and the grass was green. I took in an deep breath and sighed. It was an beautiful day with my captures.At sundown, we were walking threw the woods. Ash thinks it is an shortcut to wherever we are going.
"Blazer, where is Victor?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know. When he woke me up to wake the others, he was panicking. I never saw Victor like that before. Not until..." He never finished. Arrows flew threw the wind and hit the Bandits one by one. Blazer fell of his horse with an load thump. Blood dripped from the arrow and down his chest. I moved up into the saddle, grabbed the reins and kicked. We galloped away from the scene.
"After her! Don't shoot her!" Ordered an voice. I didn't care who it was. I was getting out of their. We galloped threw the woods at hard gallop. The wind blew threw my hair and into my face. Making my eyes tear up.
"Kate!! Its us!! Lancelot and thy King!!" Yelled the voice. I kept going. Even though my mind was screaming at me like a banshee to stop, I kept going.It was nightfall when I lost them. I dismounted my tired horse. I tied him up on an near by tree, in the woods, and sat down; leaning against the tree. I stared up at the blanket of black and wight. The stars shined like an thousand suns. The black blanket of darkness and stars shinned out the sun, and made the world go cold. It was beautiful. I sighed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
~~~Victor~~~
I stared up at the blackened sky. Filled with the brightest of stars. It has been a long time cense I was but six years old. I never cared about the sky. Never had time to admire it. I wonder where Blazer and Kate are, I thought. My mind raced on where they could be. I mentally slapped myself. Don't worry about it. They are fine. Blazer can handle it.
That was an lie when I found Blazer and them.
