The lyrics to This Is Gospel flowed out of Mason's lips as she made her bed, finally getting out of it after Bella called and asked to go to some bookstore. Bella had went dress shopping with Jessica and Angela earlier that day; they invited Mason but she declined, dances weren't really her thing. Her out-of-tune singing was cut short by the sound of her mainstream ringtone. The caller ID made her smile.
"Hello." She chirped.
"Hey Mase, what you up to tonight?" Jacob's deep voice sounded through her cell.
"Nothing really, just going to a bookstore with Bella." She answered.
"Bookstore? Where's it at?" His voice was clear with confusion.
"Uh, it's called Thunderbird & Whale Book Store in Port Angeles ." Mason shrugged, even though she knew he couldn't see.
"Oh, i think my dad knows the owner." He told her.
"Cool, maybe we can get a discount." She joked, making him laugh. "So what did you need?" She put her shoes on.
"I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to come over for dinner tomorrow night. My dad's making his famous meatloaf and i figured you could meet him, ya know, since I've talked about him so much." Jacob laugh, his voice shook with nervousness.
Mason smiled and breathed out a laugh. "Sure, i'd love to meet you dad Jacob."
"Awesome, so i'll be there to get you around 6, is that good?" She heard his excitement.
"That sounds great. See you then." Mason saw Bella's truck pull up.
"Yeah, see you Mason." Jacob replied before hanging up the phone.

"So what are you getting this for?" Bella looked at the book Mason grabbed titled Quileute Legends.
"Ever since Jacob told me about the story i was curious, my favorite animal is a wolf you know. And don't be judging me; you got, whatever that is, The Cold Ones." Mason pointed at Bella and narrowed her eyes.
"Yeah whatever, let's just check out." Bella laughed and walked up to the front counter.
A russet skinned lady was the cashier, her long black hair was curly and in multiple braids that ended by her rear. She rung up both of the books, Bella offered to pay for both and Mason did not deny. After Bella got her book Mason reached for hers. Her hand barely grazed the top of the women's hand making her gasp.
"Q'wati." The lady stared at Mason with wide eyes, speaking in a different language.
"Excuse me?" Mason asked the lady, not sure of what she said.
"Thank you, have a good night." The lady quickly said before exiting to the back room.
Mason furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Bella, who just shrugged.
Port Angeles had too many alleys for Mason, the two brunettes making their way through town. Walking down an alley, Mason and Bella noticed a group of drunk guys looking at them, taking Bella's forearm they took a last minute turn into a parking lot; only to be found by the group, who had unfortunately got larger.
Mason grabbed Bella's hand as one of the guys spoke. "There they are." The group had split into two, the man talking was with the one standing in front of them. Mason tried to push pass them but another guy grabbed her shoulder while someone grabbed Bella, splitting the two apart.
"Whoa. Yo, how you guys doin'?" His breathe reeked of alcohol. She tried to get pass him again but he gripped her shoulder tighter. " Hey, whoa whoa whoa, where are you goin' beautiful?"
