Running. She didn't know why but she knew she had to run. There was something chasing her, but she didn't know who; or what. It was incredibly fast, but she was somehow faster. Her heart pumped blood faster than she could take. She seemed to be running in circles and once she realized, she stopped. Hearing the footsteps come closer, she turned around and prepared herself for the worst. A red-headed lady stood in front of her and grabbed her by the throat.

"I promise. You will feel nothing." The lady said before bearing her fangs and-

Mason woke up in a heap of sweat and tears. It had been the same thing for over a month, this continuous dream that she had every night. She didn't know who the women was but she was determined to find out.

Turning into the parking lot of her school, Mason parked next to Bella's truck and smiled while grabbing the purple box. Interrupting her and Edward's conversation, Mason greeted her best friend.

"Happy birthday!" Mason exclaimed, throwing the present into Bella's hand.

"Thanks Mason." Bella smiled.

"Well, open it dammit. I didn't spend two hours on Youtube searching on how to wrap for nothing." Mason crossed her arms.

"You Youtubed how to wrap a present?" Edward sounded amused.

"Yes I did. I suck at wrapping, ask Bella." Mason shrugged.

"Yeah, she does. Why didn't you just get your mom to do it? She's a professional." Bella joked while starting to tear open the purple paper.

Mason stared at Bella, gulping. Edward looked down after he read her thoughts.

"Oh my gosh, Mason." Bella laughed while holding up the collage of their childhood pictures.

"Eighteen years worth of pictures there my friend." Mason smiled.

"I love it so much. I love you Mason." Bella hugged Mason tightly.

Both of them hated that they had to keep secrets from one another.

The two broke apart at the sound of someone clearing their throat. The two girls turned around and visibly froze. The boy standing before them was almost a stranger.

"Hello biceps." Mason finally broke the silence. "I mean, Jacob." She smiled and met him halfway for a hug.

"Hey, Mase. Long time no see." He smiled, knowing very well that they were just together yesterday.

"You know, anabolic steroids are really bad for you." Bella told Jacob before hugging him too.

"Well, I'm just filling out, Bella. You know, wouldn't seem so drastic if we hung out more." He told her while slinging his arm around Mason's shoulder.

"You should switch schools. Then you can come hang out with the pale faces." The pale girl told him.

Jacob laughed in response. "I'm alright. I prefer the Rez's school's exclusivity. They let any old rift raft into this place."

"Then you'd fit perfectly." Mason said while looking up at him.

Jacob ruffled her hair and pushed her shoulder. "Oh by the way, Happy Birthday. Your Dad told my Dad. So..." He told Bella.

"Thanks Jacob. Hey, i'll see you guys later okay." Bella told them before walking away with Edward.

"I should probably go, too." Mason turned to face Jacob.

"Wait, before you go." He stopped her, reaching in his back pocket, he pulled out something wrapped in a cloth. He spoke while gently unwrapping it. "I saw this the other day and thought of you. It catches bad dreams."
