(Author's Note:

This story revolves around me and some of my internet friends. It starts out really lame, and I think it's pretty weird but my homie Declan encouraged me to post it anyway XD anyway, speaking of Declan, he's writing a story too! You should read it, "The Camping Trip" by @Declan_ but anyway, here's my story. That I wrote. Ok I'll shut up now.)

(Sorry for the speech.)

Cat's POV

Do you know how much it sucks to be in hand to hand combat with someone you love? I dunno it's pretty lame. It's not the punches that hurt, as much as the coldness and loathing in their eyes. That stings. That stings like an arrow to the heart.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm getting ahead of myself here. Let's go back, say, three hours.

I look myself in the bathroom mirror and can barely recognize the person looking back at me. My short hair is up and I'm wearing makeup. MAKEUP. I never wear makeup. I smooth my short skirt and walk out of the bathroom, gingerly taking the bobby pins out of my hair before May notices. May is my best friend, well, one of them. I'd say my best friends are her, Jenna, Declan and Keb, and I also have a bunch of close friends but let's not get into that now. Just as I slide out the last bobby pin, May strides out of her bedroom wearing an outfit equally fancy to mine- short skirt, sparkly shirt- the works. We check each other out for a moment before her mom calls out from downstairs, "Girls, you ready?!" "Yeah, mom, we're coming!" answers May as she starts making her way downstairs. If you're wondering what the big occasion is, it's Declan's birthday, and he's doing some big fancy party, as usual. Most of us tend to have more private celebrations, not being that popular and all, but hey, no one's complaining. Well, I am, but that's because I'm wearing a fucking skirt. "Cat, come on!" May interrupts my train of thought. She's already at the door. Whoops, got sidetracked there. I catch up to her and her mother comes up to us. "You gals have fun now" she smiles and kisses May's forehead, then waves us goodbye as we walk out the door. A few houses over is Jenna's abode. We march through her front yard and ring the doorbell. She opens the door, wearing some sparkly shorts and a loose, pretty shirt. She says later to her mom and sister before joining us, then we make our way to Keb's house. Our houses are all pretty close, so yeah. After picking him up, we all go to the bus stop. As we wait for the bus, I examine Keb's outfit. He's wearing a simple tux, and holding a bag in his hands. "Is that the present?" I ask him. "Yup." he says. We'd all wanted to get something awesome for Declan on his birthday, so we'd saved up some money, put it all together and bought some stuff from this fancy shmancy store downtown. I'm not telling you what, don't you get that it' a surprise? Geez. The bus approaches, halting abruptly at the stop. The four of us get on and tell the driver our stop, pay with some coins and find some seats. I'll spare you the details of the bus ride, it was uneventful as usual. As the vehicle stops with the same force as earlier, I hop out eagerly, followed by my friends. I flinch as the bus door slams closed, the bus already speeding away. Jenna leads us as we carefully cross the busy street, then enter a fancy hotel. The party's in the biggest conference room, according to the front desk lady. We follow her directions and stop at the door. The sound of muffled music is barely audible through the thick wooden double doors. I follow my friends through, and the music gets louder. And the biggest adventure of our lives gets nearer.
