Chapter 6: Brothers

When Levi Higgins was about to graduate from high school, he had a Blitz ball scholarship to one of the best schools on Royal Prime. However the military saw his physical stature as an advantage and they drafted him into the military.

Levis father, a Govener for the Royal Famlies used his political power to have his first born placed in the naval academy. Where he was trained to command. When this happened Levi's father lost his position of power.

A few year later when Levi's younger brother Nolan graduated he too was drafted. No one could stop him being forced into the infantry. They both finished there training about the same time.

Several years later Lieutenant Levi Higgins, posted on the troop carrier RGS Hector, was in charge of the loading and unloading of troops. When his brothers name ran across his data pad for deployment he knew he had to do something.

The minute Levi saw Nolan board a transport and launch he knew what he had to do. He abandoned his post and ran to the lower observation pod. Once used to study planets to see if they could be habitable, the observation platform acted as Levis eyes for Nolan.

Once on the ground Levi sent Nolan detailed maps of enemy locations and routes to take. He ended up leading nolans squad to victory with the highest kill/death ratio then any squad in royal guard history. Nolans squad was classified as elite and levi was severly punished, until information came out about what really happened.

Once it became known what Levi had done and how the squad he lead had done so well, it became the standard command and contole of every planetary battle from then out.

As Levi rose threw the ranks, he realized that what he did to help his brother survive became a way to mass murder millions of people. It haunted him for many years.

The day Nolan Higgins first went into combat he had that scared excited feeling. Couldn't figure our which it was but he knew he was ready. He boarded his dropship and got strapped in. Moments later he felt the RGS Hector let go of the small flying box.

As he landed he noticed that his helmet was transmitting its GPS loctation. He was afraid it mighr alert the rebels to jos location and he was just about to toss it into an allt when he heard his brothers voice.

His brother the Lieutenant was actually speaking directly to him. He told his sergeant what was happening and were to go. Halfway threw the engagement his Sergeant handed him his stripes and told him to lead. Where he walked out of the engaged city with 2 men wounded and 1 dead, compared to the 145 kills there squad made, they left leaving records behind.

Thanks to Levi Nolan reciced his very own Sergeant stripes at the end of the battle. He got himself a squad and was assigned to another battalion. Shortly after news of how he did it came out, and his little secret way of fighting became the standard.
