Chapter One

🔺Jewel, Max's wolf

*Max*

  "Fudge," I muttered as I heard them getting closer and I quickly shifted into my white wolf and took off down the hill.

~Move faster, Max.~ my wolf, Jewel growled in my head.

~I'm trying~ I huffed at her, ~I'm still hurt from getting attacked~

~You should have been paying attention.~ she growled loudly.

~Well sorry,~ I snarled, ~I was to busy trying to stay alive.~ and I cut the link between us. Hours later I slow down some so I could catch my breath.

~That was way to close for comfort.~ I sigh and start looking for a place to sleep tonight, since I can't go back to the cabin.

  Laying down I close my eyes and think of how much my life has changed in the past four years.

~We'll be ok, Max~ Jewel says, ~Why don't you rest. I'll keep watch~

~Thanks Jewel~ I whisper before fading to the back of my mind.

  "Maybe we should just kill it," someone said.

  "We're waiting until Alex gets here." another voice said, "He decides what we'll do with the rogue."

 ~Rogue?~ I question and I stare at them.

~They're talking about us,~ Jewel grumbles ~We're not just rogue.~

~I know,~ I giggle. ~Wanna make them pee they're pants?~

~Hell yeah,~ Jewel howls

~K,~ I chuckle ~On the count of three.~

~One~ Jewel starts.

~Two~ I tense up slightly, ~THREE~

  "SHIT!" the other two yell as I sprint past them. "Grab it."

~Did he just call us and it?~ Jewel grumbles.

~Watch this,~ I smirk and spin quickly running back by them.

~Haha~ Jewel laughs ~Men are idiots~

~Yep~ I chuckle ~Now lets get out of here~ and I start running as fast as I can when I them chasing after me.

~Ow~ I grumble when I run into a wall. ~Why the hell would you have a wall in the middle of the woods?~

~That's not a wall.~ Jewel stats

~Huh?~ I question looking up at a very attractive male.

~Mate~ Jewel says happily.

~HELL NO~ I yell at her and quickly dart around him.

~WHY ARE RUNNING FROM OUR MATE?~ Jewel questions loudly.

~Did you not notice the tattoo on his shoulder?~ I growl angrily ~It was the same one that was on the wolves that killed our friends.~

~But~ Jewel whimpers,

~Look as soon as I know we're safe from the hunters and I know he won't kill us we'll come back, ok?~ I sigh.

~Ok~ Jewel whines and I cut the link so I could concentrate on my surroundings.

I yelp when I got tackled from behind wiggling out from under the jerk and backed up against a tree. I saw the man I'd run into a few minutes ago and the two I scared run up behind him.

  "Alpha," the one with brown hair said. "Sorry, she darted past us before we could grab her."

  "Shift," the Alpha said and I shook my head. "No ones going to hurt you." I snorted and shook my head no again. He growl a few words before bending down to grab me, but I growled biting his hand.

  "She's feisty," the dirty blonde chuckles and the other two glared at him.

  'You have no idea,' I growl and slowly back up.

  "Stop," the Alpha growls staring at me and I huff and sit down.

  "Well she listened that time," brown hair said and I rolled my eyes.

  "Shift, NOW," Alpha growled tossing me a shirt.

~Did he just use his alpha voice on me?~ I asked Jewel.

~He did,~ she said.

~No one orders me around especially not some weak alpha~ I growl looking at him cocking my head to the side, before I grabbed the shirt and went behind a tree. A few minutes later I run towards the river and I heard an angry grow/howl and heavy footsteps running behind me.

~Seriously,~ I groan to Jewel ~When is he going to realize I don't want to be here~

~He wants you~ Jewel says ~Mates like the chase~

~Well I don't~ I grumble running through the water and making him lose my scent. As soon as I get off his territory I heard a pained howl.
