[Really lame fight scene and then fluff. :)]
"Tomlinson! O'Dwyer!"
"Fight, fight!"
"Kick his ass, Mitch!"
It wasn't happening. Liam was stronger, taller - overall bigger. And, he was angry. Mitch never even stood a chance against him. He just laid on the ground, taking every kick and punch yet not knowing exactly what he did to deserve it.
"You little fucker," Liam hissed down at the boy on the ground, venom dripping from his words. His eyes are glassy as he continues the beating. It's like he's not even himself anymore. "You're no good for him!"
"Says who?" Mitch mutters weakly, chest aching with every word. Even though he's hurt, he'll still defend himself with his words. "You're not his boyfriend."
Before Liam can even hiss, there's a flurry of movement and suddenly there are teachers all around them, scowling.
"Mr. Tomlinson," one of them growls, and Liam backs up from Mitch - who's now smirking in triumph, looking up at Liam with eyes of the devil. Had there not been teachers surrounding them, Liam would have ripped out his throat. "Office. Now."
As Liam gets grabbed and starts being dragged inside, he scans the crowd and finds Niall. Their eyes lock, for the slightest of moments, and it's about then that Liam senses something isn't right.

After school, when Niall is home all alone and working on his homework, his phone starts ringing.
Interested in no form of conversation, no matter who it be with, Niall grabbed his phone, and swiped at the screen - declining the call without even looking at who it was. Thinking nothing of it, he picked up his pen and went back to his homework.
His phone rang again.
He growled under his breath, and snatched it up once again. He peered at the Caller ID, and declined the call again.
He had no interest in talking with Mitch.
Until it rang again.
Niall groaned, and finally answered. "Stop fucking calling me! Isn't it obvious that I don't want to talk? Leave me alone!"
"Baby," Mitch's voice cooed, and all of Niall's confidence drained from his body. There was something so soothing and sensual about his boyfriend's voice that almost immediately calmed him down - and he hated it. "Calm down, yeah? I just want to talk."
Niall's previously tensed shoulders fell back into place, and he let out a throaty sigh. "Mitch, if this is about the fight, I don't want to hear it."
"It's not, love. I promise you."
"You've promised me a lot of shit," Niall pushed himself away from the table, and stood up - wandering towards the stairs. "So, there's this weird part of me that doesn't believe you...why would you suppose that is?"
"Nialler," Mitch sighed from the other end of the line, and Niall could hear a faint riffling sound. "I want you to listen to me, alright? When we were waiting outside the office for our lecture, I talked to your cousin - I can tell that he doesn't really like me, by the way. And, after he warmed up to me a little bit, he told me that you didn't say anything. He said that he was reading the message over your shoulder."
"Yeah...so?"
"So, I shouldn't have gotten so mad at you, over nothing. You know that I love you, right?"
There was part of Niall that didn't believe what he was hearing. Why would Mitch be apologizing to him? He hadn't really done anything wrong...
"Yes..." Niall sighed, deciding that giving Mitch the cold shoulder wouldn't really fix anything. Maybe if he just tried to stay the perfect boyfriend, things would be better. Maybe if he didn't do anything wrong, Mitch would really love him. "Mitch, please don't apologize. You didn't do anything wrong. Liam wouldn't know if I hadn't been so careless about it. I-,"
"Niall, stop," Mitch whispered, voice watery. "Please. I shouldn't have said it in the first place, or any of that other shit. I was just...I was so mad...and you mean the world to me. I know it's hard to believe sometimes, but it's true. Please, just know that."
...
"Mitch?"
"Yeah, love?"
"I love you."
...
"Niall?"
"Hm?"
"Can I see you?"

Niall has to admit that he was a bit reluctant in accepting Mitch's offer. But it seemed like things were better, so he allowed himself to go outside and wait for his boyfriend to swing around.
Mitch's camry pulled up in record time, and before Niall knew it, he was being brought into an embrace. He was taken aback at first, having expected a hit by now, but he shook that feeling off and hugged his boyfriend.
"I love you," Mitch whispered into his ear, and Niall shivered - not just because he was cold, either. "I've missed this - missed you."
Niall pulled back, and looked up at him - Mitch was a good five inches taller than the blonde, give or take. "You never have to miss me again, I promise."
Niall grabbed him by the arm and dragged him inside. Mitch took off his jacket, and threw it on the couch. He kicked off his shoes - all the while Niall was standing there, staring at him with wide blue eyes. He wasn't smiling, but he wasn't frowning either.
Mitch walked back over to Niall, and brought him back into his arms - connecting their lips in a soft, warm kiss.
And, as Niall should have expected, there was a hand lingering by the waistband of his jeans within twenty minutes.
"Mitch," he broke the kiss, a frown now on his face. "No."
"Right," Mitch murmured sheepishly, and Niall almost changed his mind - out of nothing but guilt. If he didn't give in, would Mitch take back everything that he ever said? Would he stop loving him? "I'm sorry. I just felt like...you would...I don't know, want someone."
Niall started to crumble, but he knew that this wasn't right. Sex was supposed to be certain. Niall wasn't certain then, and he wasn't now. "Right now, I just can't. I do love you, but...right now, I just...you're hurt."
"Only a few bruises, love," Mitch whispered, but took Niall's hand and led him to the couch. "Doctor said I should be fine. How 'bout a movie?"
Niall sighed in relief. "Sounds perfect."
If anyone knew that perfection didn't last, it was Niall.
He just...forgot.
