Tough Love

Chapter 1

~Ashley POV~

It was a regular day, like any other day, when the door bell rang. "I'll get it!" I said. I lived in a big house with my friends Macy, Adam, Gary, Jasmine, Tyler, Sarah, Aaron, Joe and Porter. We've all been friends since high school then after we went to collage and/or university we put our money together and came here, New York. The most advanced city in the world. Oops, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Ashley. An 18 year old girl living in New York with her best friends and her boyfriend, and I love my life.

I opened the door and screamed! "Ryan! When did you come?" Ryan was my neighbour when I was about six. Then at age 14 he moved. We were best friends. When he moved we still kept in touch. And I couldn't believe it, he was here, in New York! "I came about a week ago and I've been at my cousins for a while. Then I got an email from your friend Sarah saying that you live in New York and that I should come and visit. So I thought why not ?" "Well then please, come in." I said as I made more space for him to enter. "Macy,Adam, Jasmine, Sarah, Aaron, Joe, Porter, there's someone I want you to meet, come down here." I shouted to call them all over. 

"Guys, this is my friend Ryan, Ryan these are my friends Jas-" "I know them, you talk a lot about them and you sent my a pictures, I learnt from there." He said and smiled. "Wait, I thought you said you live with ten people, there's only 8 here." "Gary and Tyler went out to get pizza for dinner" Macy said. I think she'll like Ryan a lot. There both smart and Ryan is really athletic, just like Macy. "Ryan, you'll be staying here from now." Sarah said like almost as a demand, but not exactly. "No, I can't" Ryan saying politly. "You have to. You and Ashley can finally have your bonding times again, just like when you were kids. Do the things like when you were little,remember old memories." Sarah said. I could also tell that Ryan and Sarah will be great friends because they both are smart and love reading also like to help people. "You have to Ryan, also for us to know you better." Macy said beggingly. "Well then...alright." Ryan said finally agreeing. Sarah told Ryan that she called Ryan's cousins and his stuff is here in the room.

The door bell rang again. This time Sarah got it. We were all sitting at the couches talking with Ryan. Sarah shouted "Pizza's here!" and we all got up and went to the kitchen table. I pulled out another chair for Ryan and put it where all the guys sit. I introduced Ryan to Gary and Tyler. I hope they like each other. They are athletic, like basketball and soccer. Fingers crossed. I got up to get drinks from the garage. As I came back I heard laughter coming from the kitchen. I think they like Ryan. Let's just hope Ryan doesn't start crushing on Jasmine. Lots of people crush on her. She is beautiful. After dinner Sarah, Macy, Jasmine and I went to clean up. "Do you think they guys like Ryan?" Jasmine asked. "Of course they do." Macy answered. "I'm pretty sure they do." Added Sarah. "What do you guys think of Ryan?" I asked. "I like him." Macy said in less then a second. "I like him too. He's into all kinds of books, he likes poetry, he's just like me." Sarah said. "Please, we do not need a Sarah number two." Jasmine said. "But he has something in common with everyone except me." "Well then here's something you don't know about Ryan. He has good taste and he can do the best make up, hair and nails." I said trying to cheer Jasmine up. "Shut up, no way!" Jasmine and Sarah said at the same time. I laughed. "Yes way"

After we finished the dishes we went to the living room and saw the guys watching soccer. Well, they were. Now there playing soccer, inside the house. "Hey! It takes a lot of work to clean up and you guys always leave when it's time to clean up and leave us girls here. So if your going to play soccer then go outside." Sarah said scaring the guy to leave outside to the backyard. "Well ladies shall we go out and watch them?" "Yes we shall." I said.

The teams were Tyler, Gary, Aaron vs. Porter, Adam, Joe and Ryan. But right before the game started Macy started begging to play. Adam, Ryan, Gary said yes but the other guys said no. So she came back and sat down dissipointed on the deck. Macy cheered for Adam of course. They've been dating since grade eleven. Jasmine cheered for Tyler. They've been dating since grade twelve. We had to set them up, they didn't have feelings for each other before. Well Jasmine did a bit but she got over him after a while. Sarah cheered for Joe at times. Sarah and Joe aren't dating exactly but they both got feeling for each other. They just never show it. And I cheered for Gary. I've been dating Gary since grade ten. He was in my class and I've been crushing on him for six months. Then finally one day I built courage to ask him out. I thought he was going to reject me but he didn't. He said he would say yes to anyone as long as they asked. After a two or three weeks, I guess he started liking me too. Porter got asked out a lot but he never stayed with a girl for long. His relationships would last a week or two. He's not the one girl type of guy. Aaron was shy. He was athletic but shy. We all have a feeling he's crushing on someone, we just don't know who.

Us girls got tired of cheering for the guys and left. We went to the garage and played badminton. Our garage is big, but not big as the backyard. We lived in a big house if I must say again. Tyler said it's a mansion but Sarah says it's a house. They should know cause they picked it out but they can't decide themselfs. After like a half an hour we went inside and the guys came in then too. It was eleven and Joe suggested that we all go out and watch a movie, so we did. We went out and watched Super 8.

 I think the guys are starting to like Ryan and the day went great. I hope everyday we spend with Ryan goes like this. Don't want it to be like when Macy's dad came over for a visit the guys decided to cook and made him choke on his food. I remember that day. Macy's dad was really mad and didn't want Macy to stay with us. Everyone pleaded untill he let her stay with us and we didn't let the guys cook for our guest after that. That day was a disaster. But when you think about it, it was pretty funny. I remember when Macy's dad came, the guys were a bit drunk and they did confetti. Macy's dad face said "What the hell ? I let you live like six boys and I thought they were responsible people who don't drink. These people are clearly drunk and don't look responsible to me." And then the news paper guy came and accdently hit him in the head. We sent Tyler to go get some things so we could make lunch and he brought weird random things so we made the guys make lunch. We saw what they made, pasta, and thought nothing could go wrong, untill he started choking on a marker top. And since then we never let them cook for guest without our supervision.

"I like that part too." said Tyler agreeing to Gary. "Okay so guys, is the guest room clear?" Sarah asked. "And I am talking to the guys cause when I went there yesterday morning it was fine, don't know what to expect now. The six guys told us to wait downstairs and ran upstairs. "I wonder how messy it is." Macy said laughing. "Well I saw Tyler go in there with chips, Gary with a beer bottle, Adam with coke, Joe with popcorn, Aaron with pizza and Porter with streamers and cake. Jasmine said trying to prove it is very messy. "Lets see how long it takes them to clean it." I added. "How messy and lazy are those guys?" Ryan asked. "Well actually they really aren't that lazy, there active and help around the house sometimes and usually when they make a mess, they clean it up." Sarah said answering Ryan's question. "Okay were done, the room is spotless" Joe said running down the stairs with the other guys. "Fingers crossed" I said. We went upstairs and saw it really was spotless. Wow they guys can clean up in 15 minutes, I wonder how long it took them. We brought Ryan's stuff upstairs and told he can put his stuff in the cabnites tomorrow, showed him the bathroom, showed him mine and Sarah's room, showed him Macy's and Jasmines room, Tyler and Gary's room, Joe and Aarons room and Porter and Adam's room. After we all went to bed, well I think cause I fell asleep fast.

Hey guys, tell me what you think, this is just the beginning, there will be fights and misunderstandings. I just started the book and there will a different persons POV every chapter. I will continue my book no matter what. I wrote this becuase of my friend and some couples a true in this book just changed their names! Please keep reading on ! Thanxs :D
