CHAPTER 1

Together with the other students, Jada entered the gate of her school. She plugged the pair of her earphones on her ears and turned the volumes up. It was another normal day for her at the school and how she wished again her classes would end up immediately. She looked at the serene blue sky and took a deep breath.

"Another tiring day" She murmured

"How I wish I could still stay in my cozy bed for the whole day" She was suddenly startled when she felt a pair of hands covered her eyes while she is walking on the corridor.

"Guess who I am" The person said

"Get off your filthy hands away from my eyes, Nylie." Jada said, and in an instance her friend take off her hands and walks to her side.

"Hey, how did you know that it's me?" Nylie asked in amusement.

"I'm not dumb. I recognized your voice and you're the only one who always did that stupid thing to me."

Nylie was about to defend herself when they heard shrilling and peeve voice. The two of them cringed as they cover their ears.

"Waaaaaahhhh! Good morning girls!" Aira, their friend, screamed who she seems accidentally swallow a megaphone because of her loud and annoying voice.

"Goodness gracious Aira, you're damaging our ear drums. Could you just lower down your voice?" Jada whined and flipped her dark hair.

The three of them were best friends since high school and they took the same course so they wouldn't be separated from each other. Fortunately, their parents agreed with their decision since their parents were also friends

"Oh, I'm sorry."Aira replied to Jada while giggling

Jada just shook her head in disbelief and they made their way towards their classroom as they talk about some random topics. After a couple of minutes, their professor arrived and the class get started. The professor discussed about their lesson and took a seatwork afterwards. Time runs fast, especially they did a lot of activities that's why they didn't notice the time. It was lunch break when they decided to take their lunch at the canteen. They were heading to their usual spot inside the canteen while the two of her best friends were talking about their ex-boyfriends.

"Yeah. That douchebag, I'm going to wring his neck if I'll see him." Nylie furiously said as she remembered her recent two years boyfriend who left him last year.

"That's okay Nylie. You will find someone better soon." Aira encouraged her.

"I just loathe him. I know that, that's the cycle of love: You will fall in love, get hurt, you will forget about him and you'll back on the first stage again." Nylie shrugged.

"What about you Jada? When will you have a serious relationship?" Aira inquired to Jada as they sat.

"When the pigs can already fly." Jada answered sarcastically and took a bite in her burger.

"Here we go again with your oh so sarcastic answer about love" Aira replied stating the last word a bit dreamily.

"Why were the two of you insisting me about that? I will do whatever what I wanted to do. It is fun—"

"It's fun to play with other's feelings? How will you going to be truly happy if you always build a huge barrier around you to protect you from hurt? How long you will be heartless? Hurt is always together with love, Jada" Nylie stated and took a sip from her Taro shake

"Love doesn't exist, Nylie. It's just all infatuation. Eventually, you'll just get lose interest and you'll just get this over with" Jada retorted.

"It exists, sis. You're just still being blinded with your afflicting past. I think your dad have a reason why he le—"

"No, he doesn't have"

"C'mon Jada, you should just forgive your father and move on"

"Could you just shut up Nylie? Stop talking about that man because I don't have a father like him!" Jada yelled.

The two of her best friend stare at her with their mouth hanged open because of her sudden burst of emotion. Suddenly, Jada realized what she did, she roamed her eyes around the place and she saw people were also staring at her.

"O...okay. Calm down, sis. I'm sorry." Nylie said, a little embarrassed. Jada looked at her and took a deep sigh, calming herself.

"Just forget it."

No one can understand her. The feeling of being wreck and lonely, that's why she doesn't want to open up the most sensitive topic because she will just remember it again. It's just like a broken cassette tape that keeps on playing in her mind. She wants to forget everything. Everything that makes her suffers emotionally until now, but she can't. She can still recall the entire occurrence. She thought they were happy family back then, she thought everything was perfect, but she's all wrong. It was all a lie. She didn't expect that the man she trusted and loved the most will make her heart wrecked and the reason why her mother committed suicide. It was all catastrophes.

She felt her tears already clouding her eyes, and before she could cry, she was suddenly snapped back into reality when she heard a thud followed by a bunch of laughter.

"My gosh! Adrian is so clumsy! Hahaha!" Aira said as she burst into laughter. Jada blinked several times and wipes her eyes. She was curiously looked at the two and followed the gaze of her two best friend where they are looking at and right there, she saw Adrian wincing while lying on the floor with strands of spaghetti on his face and a spill of soft drink on the front of his shirt.

"Look how fat he is. So disgusting! Doesn't he know the word 'diet' means?" Nylie said.

"I'm perfectly sure he doesn't know that. Hahaha." Someone chimed in.

Adrian is Jada's schoolmate. They have the same course yet they're in different section. He is a fat loner guy who always got bullied at their school. Yes, even though they're already in college, some people were just like a kid. Apparently, almost everyone knows him because of that. She sometimes pity him but, she chose not to butt in because it's not her business. She just looked at him while he's wiping his face with his bare hands. Everyone on that place were laughing and mocking at him except her.

As always, no one dares to help him.

"Greg blocked his foot that's why Adrian tripped on the ground" Nylie said, referring to their classmate who always bullied Adrian.

"What's new about that?" Jada frowned as she fan herself with her hand.

"Wait guys" Aira said

"What?" Nylie gazed at her boredly

"We still don't have homework on History!" Aira stated and looked frantically at the two.

"Oh my gosh! I forgot. What are we still doing here? Let's go to the library" Nylie exclaimed and in instance the two of them immediately stood up and packed their things.

"Come on, Jada. Hurry up!"

Jada just rolled her eyes and followed her two best friends. But before they left the canteen, she took a last glimpse on Adrian and she caught him looking at her. She just ignores him and continued to walk away from the canteen.
