The Silver Kiss

Chapter Three

I wonder where the kitchen is from here. Thought Kaiya as she opened the doors to the room she was in. She looked down the hall way and noticed how long it was. As she started to walk towards the stairs she seen in the distance, she counted the doors she passed so she could remember which room was hers.

Kaiya, don't cause any trouble, just sneak to the kitchen, get some food and go back to your room. The 21st door on the left.

She got to the kitchen after glancing around a little bit. The sun was up so the house was lit up too. It was really quiet. She opened the refrigerator door and got out some stuff to make a simple salad. Lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and dressing. She put it in a bowl grabbed a fork and a bottle of water and walked back to her room. She looked around to see if she could see anyone, but no one was around. She sat at the table in her room and looked outside to the winter land. Sure glad I'm not out there, brrr.

"Everything taste okay?" Emery said softly behind her. She jumped a little.

"Um, yes, thanks," she said as she looked at him. "Sorry, I was hungry."

"I see that. Why didn't you call for Kiki, she would have gotten you anything you needed," he said to her as he stood next to her and looked out the window towards the trees that lined the property.

"I couldn't find her, and I didn't want....." she started to say.

"Couldn't find her. Did you walk to the kitchen and make your own salad?" he asked her as he glanced at her.

"Yes. I didn't see or hear anyone," she said being honest with him. She took a drink of her water again and tossed away her bowl, it was a throw away one.

"I see. Please stay here Kaiya, I need to see where Kiki went to and why my guest is serving herself," he said to her as he started to walk out the door.

"Emery, its okay really, I can get my own stuff. I came right back," she said as she walked towards him.

"That's not the issue Kaiya. You shouldn't have to do things when I have hired someone to do those for you. Please stay in this room," he said again to her peaking over his shoulder at her. She nodded yes. He walked out the door.

He's very cute. Never seen purple eyes with silver hair on a younger guy before. Kaiya thought to herself as she walked back to her bed to lay back down. She started to get a head ache. She could her in the distance a little bit of yelling but she went back to sleep.

"Kiki, why was Kaiya left alone today?" Emery asked her at the night meeting they have before all go into shift and schools.

"I left her with Ren and Yuri my Lord," Kiki said to him with a bow.

"Hmm, is this true Ren?" he said as he looked over at Ren.

"Yes Emery, but you told us to leave when you arrived after her nightmare, I was unaware you left," Ren explained to him. He stood there for a moment with his finger creasing his face.

"This is my mistake. But let's not let this be an issue again. I cannot have her wondering the halls," he said to them all. "Everyone on best behavior tonight and I have a strange feeling that there may be some new visitors around. Keep it clean around here," Emery said as he heard a knock at the door. Kiki answered it and stood back enough so Emery could see who it was.

"Can I help you?" he asked this man standing there.

"Yes, I am looking for my daughter. I was just curious if she would happen to have come this way," he said as he handed out a young girl's picture to Kiki. Kiki looked at it and handed it to Emery. It was a picture of Kaiya.
