As he began to pull together the memories needed to tell his tale he was becoming more and more aware of how badly he didn't want to tell Sapphire all that he was about to say. To feel fear in possibly being hated by this girl confused him slightly and he knew he should be worried about the current flow of emotions rushing through him but at the moment that all had to wait for his curse was literally stabbing at his mind, wanting him to tell her. Wanting for him to make his new ray of hope hate him forever. Sapphire by now was watching him careful and with a hint of concern that made his stomach twist slightly with guilt. He deserved none of the concern that was being thrown in his direction. None.

"I was a Prince" he started, closing his eyes slowly and taking a deep shuddering breath, "I was raised in the middle of a war taking place between my father and his bother...our Kingdom was split between who was the rightful ruler of the land and my father was steadily winning. Unlike my Uncle we had called upon Dark Magic to strengthen our troops... my Uncle used mainly humans while we fought with magic and the un-dead. It was obvious to all who was most likely to win and so, people turned to father more and more" he frowned slightly, glancing up at Sapphire who was just watching him silently.

"I was quite the spoiled Prince and I made sure that everyone knew their place...I stepped over people, ended up getting people killed if there was even a hint of doubt in my father from them. i became feared and my powers began to grow. Soon I was fighting against my Uncle, commanding troops to raid various towns and temples. I took to the life of war pretty well and soon enough, the war was won when we finally took over my Uncles castle. I was about the age of nineteen when that war finally ended...and I was deeply hated"

Sapphire frowned slightly, Kaine biting his lip as the girl pulled her hands away from him, studying him with wide eyes, "Go on" she barely managed to say, Kaine giving a weak smile before closing his eyes, "How did you become a Genie?"

"My sister acted out against my father" he sighed as the day started to flash through his mind, fuzzy at first but the images soon came thick and fast, making his heart ache though he made sure to show no signs of discomfort. He didn't deserve any level of sympathy. "So I had her hung for treason" he flinched at the gasp that escaped Sapphire, "Shortly after that, I was captured by my future wife" he laughed weakly, leaning back on his arms and gazing up at the ceiling, "She called me a monster, told me I was a rich, spoilt and that all I cared for was power. She gave me two options. To right the wrong I had done, to bring back my sister or to claim more power. I chose the latter"

He chanced a look towards Sapphire, not surprised to see the surprise in her eyes.

"What happened after that was amazing. My sister had been rescued...she was mad at me for my choice and told Siren, that was her name, that she could do as she wished...she granted me power that was capable of doing the impossible - at the cost of this curse of being a Genie...a just punishment for something like me I guess"

Silence over took the room and Kaine wasn't sure if he should be trying to think on more to add to his story or not. He couldn't feel the curse pushing at his throat to get out words he never wished to say so he stayed silent and awaited for Sapphire to recover, only slightly flinching as she walked out and slammed the door shut behind her. She couldn't have gone too far though as the impulse to follow didn't kick in. Instead he laid back and stared up at the tiny stars painted into the ceiling. He felt horrible. He couldn't remember a recent time when he'd told his history to someone else and now that he'd said it all out loud he just longed to be enclosed in darkness once again. He had chosen power over the life of his own sister.

"Here" Sapphire sighed as she walked back into the room and handed him a notebook, Kaine gazing at her in confusion as he slowly sat up and took it.

"Thanks?"

"Your going to write out all you remember about who you are and all your past masters...the ones you remember and your writing it not using magic to write it" she sighed and sat down watching him, Kaine frowning slightly but opening a page and beginning to write. His master's word came first afterall.

"Can I ask why?"

"Call it curiosity" she was smiling a little which surprised him but he gave a slight nod as though he could guess what she was up to and continued to write, "Oh and can we get more grapes?

"Sure" he waved a hand lazily and Sapphire happily began to eat as she turned on the television set, watching some fashion show while Kaine sat back and tried to remember enough about his former masters. Only the bad memories lingered though and he was finding it difficult to write about certain events, half wondering if Sapphire was going to read this after he was finished. If so, then he was about to share much more information than he wished, though of course as Sapphire had asked him to do this he didn't have that much of a choice. Even if he attempted to stop writing he found that magic took over, until he yelped as Sapphie hit him with a pillow.

"I said no magic"

"Hand cramp" he muttered weakly, biting at his lip a little as she leaned over to read what was being written, her eyes growing wide for a moment before she gasped and grabbed hold of Kaine's shoulders, half sitting in his lap now as she stared up into his eyes.

"Stop" she barely whispered, Kaine blinking in surprise as tears started to fall from his Master's eyes. Frowning, he reached up and pulled her down against his chest, sighing softly as he allowed her to sob against him

"The magic will finish it then" he whispered softly, Sapphire just nodding weakly, clinging to him as though afraid he was about to vanish, "Master....why are you upset?"

"I shouldn't have asked you to do all this...this wasn't my place"

"Your my master. I belong to you" he frowned at the glare he received in response, "...M- Sapphire?"

"Stop talking like that.." she sighed and burred into his chest again, taking deep breaths to try and ease off the sobs, Kaine gently playing with her hair as he regarded her  in confusion. She truly was a strange master.

But he felt like he was enjoying this and found himself hoping to spend a good few years with this girl.
