It was 8:30 on the dot. The bus was gonna arrive in about 5 minutes. I wish I could've taken my bug. It would've been so much easier. But who knows maybe the bus will turn out well for me.
The bus just arrived. I step onto the bus and it's packed with unpleasant New Yorkers. I shove my way through trying to find an open spot. There's only one seat available, next to all tall man with jet black hair.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" I shyly ask.
"No. Go for it." He responds in his flowing Irish accent.
I take a seat beside him and I can't seem to take my eyes off, well his. They're as blue as the ocean, you can just get lost in them. He has his earbuds in and is playing candy crush on his phone so he seems to be too occupied to notice me. I then take out my iPad and begin to watch a movie, it's not a very short ride.
As I'm sitting in my seat I feel eyes on me. It feels like if they look at me any harder they'll drill a whole in my head. I look up from my phone to see if the man is looking at me. He's not. It was just a man with a long beard and round glasses sitting across from me.
I've never felt this attracted to a complete stranger before. I'm trying to analyze his face, to see what it is about him that I can't stand. Maybe it's his eyes, or his perfect amount of scruff. Or maybe it's...the fact that he sees me staring at him. I quickly look down at my iPad and continue watching my movie.
"What movie are you watching?" The man asks looking over at my screen.
"Snow white and the huntsman, one of my favourites." I manage to stutter.
"Oh that's a great movie" he exclaims.
"Yea, I love fairytales, it's like an escape, you know?" I ask the man.
"Aye, they rid me of all my worries and problems." The man explains.
I see the station coming up blocks away. I sigh and ring the bell knowing I will never see this man again.
"Well I better be going, nice talking to you-?"
"Killian" the man cuts me off
"Emma"
"Well nice talking to you Emma, I hope we see each other again." The man says
"Me too." I explain.
With that, I got off the bus and walked past him by the window, his beautiful blue eyes staring down at his phone. It almost hurt having to leave him and knowing that I will most likely never see this man again.
