Annabeth worked the ropes binding her arm slowly back and forth over the metal edge. She had found that the bed had a sharp spot near her wrist that she could pull the rope across, cutting herself loose slowly.

Shouts arose from the deck above. Annabeth frowned, but kept working to untie herself.

On deck, Percy burst into the rain to see the familiar dark ship only three and a half fathoms from them. He could not see any attackers at the bow, but the vessel was moving fast enough to make him nervous.

"Cap'n, the're tryn'ta ram us!" Ethan yelled.

"Everyone grab onto something!" Percy roared. Without waiting to see if his orders were followed, he closed his eyes and the ship jumped forward a few meters.

Down inside, Annabeth screamed in pain as the sharp edge of the bed sliced across her wrist, slitting both the rope and her skin. She pulled her hand close to her stomach and hunched over it, grunting in pain.

"What the Hades is di Angelo playing at?!" Frank bellowed, holding onto the mast with all his might.

"I don't think it's him. The storm's letting up, let's get out of here." Percy pushed the ship farther out to sea, using his power to move it as fast as possible.

"How's he gonna last?" Mitchell asked from where he was standing by the quarterdeck's ladder.

"The rain. Son of Poseidon thing." Reyna responded.

"Once I get her out far enough, prepare to be boarded!" Percy barked.

"Yes sir!" The crew shouted.

"And someone go check on Chase and the kids in the brig! I want every available fighter on deck for this!"

"On it!" Will shouted, scrambling towards the door to the belowdecks.

"He's a useful healer, Cap'n. And he ain't too bad a shot either." Frank said, loud enough for Percy to hear.

"I know..."

"Hav-e thought abou' Thalia's idea?" Ethan climbed up to the quarterdeck to see better what was following them.

"I have... I don't trust her that much yet." Percy said plainly. "I'm stopping the ship!" He bellowed to the crew.

"Arm yourselves!" Reyna ordered, drawing her sword.

Piper burst out into the wind, her hand on her dagger.

"Who's with the prisoners?!" Percy asked her.

"Will! He's got Annabeth with him, she tried to get away and injured herself so he's helping her while watching the others." Piper called, taking a position next to Mitchell, their daggers gleaming.

Sherman heaved his heavy sword up into a ready position as the black ship chasing them closed in. Gwen was holding a spear and Ethan's sword tip moved in lazy circles. Percy's hand strayed to his sword, but he didn't unsheathe it...yet.

Frank nocked an arrow slowly. "Permission to shoot?" He called to Percy.

"Hold. I want to see what's going on."

The ship drew level with them and Percy scanned it's deck. He saw no skeletons lined up for war. Instead of the pale skinned, dark-haired teen he expected at the helm, he saw a mass of curly hair.

"Frank!" He barked.

"Yes?"

"Be ready to shoot, but hold until you hear my command!"

The Erebus slowly glided next to them. Hazel began barking orders, but Percy's eyes scanned the ship for Nico.

"Where's your captain?" He murmured, not finding the shock of dark hair he was looking for.

Grappling hooks flew out, lashing the two ships together.

"Kill them all!" Hazel roared.

"That's not like her." Frank commented.

A few of the dark-skinned girl's crewmates seemed to think this too, they refused to attack. Clarisse, however, scrambled over and charged Reyna, grinning like a madwoman.

Percy narrowed his eyes when he saw a cloaked figure approaching the space between the ships.

"You." He snarled.

"Hello, Jackson! I'm here for my prizes." The man spoke loudly.

"How are you causing this? Are you a son of Nemesis or something?"

"He's no son'o' Nemesis." Ethan spat, moving to stand by Percy.

"Alas, I am not." The figure sighed. "But I'd argue that my mother is just as great."

"You're a son of Hecate, aren't you?" Percy remembered how Jason had acted, like he was in control, except he wasn't.

"Guilty!" The man laughed. "You are a smart one, aren't you? Now, where are my victims?"

"Why should I tell you?"

"Well I'd say because if you don't I'll kill you, but I was planning on doing that anyway..." The man paused, as if considering what he was going to say.

"I'll make you do the dirty work if you don't tell me where they are."

"The Hades you will!" A blur tackled the man to the deck of the ship.

Lou Ellen pinned her half brother to the ground. "Yeh're makin' a bad example o' Mom!" She snarled.

"Well, that's my cue!" The man dissolved in Lou's hands, disappearing completely.

"Ellen, call off your crew." Percy told her.

"Why should I?" She raised an eyebrow. "Hazel gave the command."

"Hazel's under your brother's control."

Lou Ellen's eyes widened and she turned. "Fall back! Leav'off'er, Clarisse, we go'a go!"

Percy breathed a sigh of relief as the other crew withdrew from his ship.

"We need to get rid of this guy."
