Chapter 5

“Bentley, give me back my car keys.” I demanded, sticking my hand out for him to put my keys in.

He smirked and shook his head. “I wish I could but I don’t think you parents would appreciate hearing that there daughter thinks she slick and is trying to sneak out the house at,” He turned on his phone and checked the time.

I rolled my eyes at the gesture. “At 10 at night.” He finished with a smirk.

“Bentley are you serious right now!? After all those time I had your back every time you snuck out at night, I think you owe me.” I said with anger.

He leaned back and crossed his arms with an expression that told me he was thinking about what I just said.

“Where are you going? I don’t think allowing a pretty girl as yourself, is a good idea to let go out alone at night. Maybe if I go and wake up Logan, we all can go together,”

Before he could finish I interrupted him.

“You know what, forget it Bentley, just remember next time I won’t have your back. Family is supposed to have each other’s back. And I now see that you don’t have mine.” I said dramatically.

I was only being dramatic to get into his head. I figured if I pulled the sad card, he may just let me go. But regardless anything, he should let me go. Its not like I’m going out to do anything bad.

Just as I was going to turn around to leave the kitchen, he grabbed me by my arm and turned me around to face him.

“You see Kimberly, I would let you go I honestly don’t have anything against you going anywhere but the there are three things that bother me about you leaving at this time of night.”

I crossed my arms and kept a serious face. “And what’s that?”

He shoved his hands into his pockets. “Well I would let you go but I just didn’t like the fact that you tried to be sneaky with it. If you just would have asked me I would have let you leave. Secondly, the fact that you’re covering yourself with that long coat makes me wonder where exactly you’re attending to go and lastly, now this one tops the cake. I would let you go but those 3 hickies on your neck is making my protective side come out. Haven’t your parents ever talked about the birds and the bees to you?”

As quickly as he said that, I placed my hand on my neck. I forgot about the healing love bites on my neck. It has been a couple of days since I still had them. They were healing at a slow rate but the color of them was fading away and also the size.

“Its not how it looks like. I got these 4 days ago. I didn’t do anything bad. It was innocent.” I rushed out making myself seem more suspicious.

Bentley just gave me the expression as though he didn’t believe anything I said, but still had a smirk on his face.

“What, why are you looking at me like that? You don’t believe me?”

He shook his head. “No I don’t. You know, I was a 17 year old before which was 3 years ago for me. I know the teenage mind. I’m still living in it.”

I sighed and pointed my finger at him. “Listen Bentley, I don’t have to tell you anything, just give me my keys. I’m not planning on leaving any more. Thanks to you, you ruined my night.”

Instead of begging him to give me my keys, I did the mature thing and turned around to head to my room. We have been arguing with him to give me my keys for about what feels like an hour already. I was just going to go to a party that India invited me to. I really want to go but now that Bentley is throwing a bitch fit, I guess I will have to sneak out through my window instead.
