"She's dead" the nurse annouced to me and my father as we waited in the relatives room .

I always knew that this day would arrive ever she told me that she discovered she had breast cancer. But nothing would have prepared me for anybody to say those words to me.

It was the day of my mothers funeral so I went into the room were her coffin was laid out for the wake , I stood at the side of her coffin admiring her beauty , her dark brown hair sat neatly on shoulders in curls , she was wearing her favourite red lipstick she looked so peaceful unlike the past few months of agony she has gone through.

A part of me was happy that she was gone because I hated seeing her go through all the pain. My father took her death hard enough and we knew that the next few month were going to be a bumpy ride.
