Once I got out the car, I helped Taraji get out. We was in a bad neighborhood so I held her hand as we walked towards the court. "Wassup Ty?" Erica said as we walked passed the gate. "Hey Erica, El over here?" I asked. "Yeah," she said as she lit her cigarette. Taraji held on to me tighter as we walked passed a couple guys who were injecting needles up their arms.
I shook my head and held onto her waist. We walked closer to the court and I seen El sitting on the ground with the ball in between his legs. "Yo El!" I called out to him. He didn't even look up. I called him again no response. Me and T looked at each other.
I sat down in front of him and he looked me in the eyes. I could tell he been drinking and smoking weed. Bro was out of it. "Did she do it?" El asked as he looked up at Taraji. Taraji shook her head no. "I ain't tell her to do it. She jumped down my throat about having an abortion," he said.
"Why did you leave her El, she's at your house right now probably going crazy because your confusing her," T said as she bent down face to face with El. "Because she ain't letting me have no say so on anything. I don't care about college, I don't care about no scholarships. I care about her but she pushed me away so I left, I figured I could give her her space," he said.
"Well she doesn't need space El she needs you to man up and let her know how you feel and what you want. Do you want her to keep this child or do you want her to give it up?" She asked.
"I want her to keep it, but y'all know Mary ain't doing that she gone give it up," he said. "Maybe if you talked to her she will," T said. "I don't know man," he said. "Baby come on man ain't no since in talking to this fool," I said as I started to walk away.
"Who you think you is man? You think you better than me?" He asked as he shoved me. "Man umma fuck you up bitch made ass nigga you always got a fucking excuse. You love your girl but you can't fucking be there for her!" I yelled as I punched him in the jaw.
"Let's not forget yo bitch didn't even wanna claim yo ass!" He yelled back as he punched me in the face. I charged after him and T got in the middle. "Stop! Stop! This isn't going to solve anything," she said with tears down her eyes. "El and Ty y'all supposed to be brothers," she said. I snatched away from her and walked off.
We walked inside and took our coats off. "Where you been today Mary?" T asked. "Wasn't no food in here so I went up the street to get something to eat," she said as she sat down at the table. "Why don't you come to my house Mary, it's warm, you know my mama be cooking up a storm, why you making yourself suffer like this?" T asked.
"T please leave me alone," Mary said as she went into the kitchen. Just then El came through the door. He looked at me and I grabbed my coat. "Tyrese come sit your black ass down," T said as she pointed to the couch. I took a deep breath and sat down on the couch. T came and sat down in my lap. I wrapped my arms around her and she kissed my forehead.
"Mary can we talk?" El asked as he stepped into the kitchen. Mary continued to act like she didn't see him. "See what I mean sis?" El said as he looked at Taraji. "Mary sit your ass down and talk to him," T said.
"Ugh what do you want Elgin?" She asked as she walked away. T got up and blocked her path. "Girl turn around and talk to him," t said with her hands on her hips.
Mary rolled her eyes and turned to talk to El. "Mary, baby Please don't give my baby up, I know I left but you was pushing me away. I got scared and I ain't know what to do," he said as he grabbed her by her waist.
"I'm sorry for pushing you away babe, I just thought that having a baby would ruin you," she said. "What? No. I mean yeah I made Samantha have an abortion, but I had no feelings for her. I love you and I want to keep our child," he child.
"You sure?" She asked. "Of course," he said. They gave each other a kiss. "Ty, I just wanna say I'm sorry bro, I mean to come at you like that," El said as he walked over to Me.
"You good bro but next time I'm gone kick your ass," I said as I gave him a hug. "T thank you for being here for me," Mary said.
"Bitch we sisters why wouldn't I be there for you?" T said as they gave each other a hug. "Iight nah get that sappy shit out of here," I laughed. "Shut up Ty come on I'm hungry," Taraji said.
"Iight y'all we gone see y'all tomorrow," I said as me and T headed to the door. "Iight see y'all," El said.
We made it back to Taraji's house and her mom had saved us two plates before she went to work. Me and T sat on her living room floor listening to the radio eating. "Yo mama know she can cook," I said as stuffed potatoes in my mouth.
"I know this shit is good," T laughed. "She taught you how to cook?" I asked. "Yup every time she cooked I stayed in the kitchen trying to learn," she replied.
"Good cause when we get married you cooking everyday," I chuckled. "Boy please I'm not cooking everyday, I might cook every know and then shit," she said.
"Man I ain't hearing nun of that you cooking for me and the kids every night," I laughed. "How many kids we talking playa?" She asked. "Two a boy and a girl," I said as I sipped my kool aid. "I can deal with that I thought you was gone say six or sum shit," she said.
"Nah, but babe I been thinking bout this singing shit," I said. "What about it? It's nothing to think about your a great singer baby," she said. "Yeah I think I wanna go to Howard University too, they got a good music program," I said.
"Awe my baby trynna follow me?" She laughed. "Yeah, i with them college niggas touching on you and shit," I laughed. "Baby you ain't with no nigga touching on me, but baby if Howard U is your choice then I'm going to support you, your an amazing singer and I believe you'll be greater than R. Kelly, or MJ one day," she said
"Greater than MJ and R. Kelly?! Nah," I laughed. "Babe it can happen with faith in God," she said. "Thanks baby but you gone do that acting right?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to Howard U for their acting program, I got a scholarship, and a full ride," she said. "Baby I swear you gone be big one day, every body gone know who you are," I said.
"Yeah that's what my daddy told me he said I'm gone be a great actor one day, I miss him he was my number one cheerleader," she said. "Yeah yo pops was like my dad, when my pops walked out and when El's pop walked out, he stood up for the both of us, when he died man that shit hurt," I said holding my head down.
"Yeah well I know he's in heaven looking down on us, and hopefully one day we do have a son. I wanna name him after my dad. Marcell," she said. "Yeah, come on baby lets go take a shower together and cuddle, I just wanna hold you tonight," I said as I got up off the floor.
"Okay baby we can do that," she smiled. I pecked her lips and wrapped my arms around her waist. Taraji was gone always be my only girl.

After me and Mary took a shower together. I gave her a foot rub, along with a back rub. I was ready to step up and be the man that she needed me to be.
"Baby I love you," I said as I wrapped my arms around her waist. "I love you too," she replied. "Baby promise me you won't push me away anymore," I said as I kissed her lips. "I promise baby and I'm sorry, I won't push you okay. I just I was scared every body gave up on me and I thought you were giving up on me too," she said.
"Nah baby honestly I was scared too, my pops wasn't around to teach me how to be a man, so now that I'm about to have a child, I don't wanna fail as a father," I said.
"Baby you won't, your going to make a great father, and I love you so much, you mean the world to me," she said. "Same here baby, your my everything, I can't wait to make you my wife," I said.
"Awe baby I can't wait to be Mrs. Lumpkin," she said as she pecked my lips. "Come on baby lets get some sleep," I said as I kissed her stomach and sucked on her neck. She cuddled up closer to me and I wrapped the covers over us. I kissed her cheek and turned out the light. I promise this day forward that I will never hurt her ever again.
