Wish I Was At Home For Christmas

Lorcan let out a long sigh, sitting down on the couch finally after a long day at uni. He'd had a lecture and three hours worth of meticulous spell binding, but at last he had finished his project for the semester, handing in his finished incantations piece less than an hour ago. Just in time for Christmas.

He smiled tiredly at the thought, kicking off his shoes and shuffling into the kitchen he shared with five other students, still grinning as he poured himself a bowl of cereal, his dorm-mate Robin giving him an odd look as he walked in. He was kind of an asshole, but even that didn't stop Lorcan from smiling.

"You look happy about something. Your dragon dildo finally arrive in the mail?" he snickered, opening the fridge and pulling out a soda, chugging it as Lorcan's grin fell into a grimace.

"Fuck off, dickhead, at least I'm getting some. And actually, I'm leaving a week early to go home this year for Christmas." he mumbled, smile creeping back onto is face as he thought about it.

Robin rolled his eyes, muttering something about sparkles in his eyes, leaving Lorcan to smile in the kitchen.

Lorcan was almost giddy as he returned to his room, seeing everything he had packed to take with him for the Christmas holidays. He was ecstatic to go home. His papa was picking him up from the train station, and they were going to surprise his dad by being early - and Levi.

He hadn't seen Levi in months, not since he came up to visit for the weekend ages ago. With his classes and lectures taking up a lot of his time, and Levi's job taking up a lot of his, it was hard to find a day they could both see each other.

They Skyped every night, and texted each other all the time, even if it was just stupid stuff like Izzy stuffing a penny up her nose, or Lorcan's roommates unfortunate case of halitosis.

Lorcan missed Levi, and his family. And he couldn't wait to see them when he got home the next day.

As soon as he stepped off the platform, scanning the crowd for signs of his papa, Lorcan was filled with a warm sense of longing, the sounds of the trains in the distance a reminder that temporarily, he was back where he belonged. For now, he was home.

He grinned as he picked out his papas chaotic mess of blonde hair - thank god he took after his dad, or that gene would prove to be a disaster to manage - and waved, pushing through the crowds towards him, breaking into a jog as he saw his papas beaming features.

He slammed into him, arms wrapping around him in a tight hug, burying his face in his neck, Brice laughing and squeezing him just as tight, the reunion long awaited and bitter sweet.

"I missed you, papa." Lorcan mumbled, tears pricking the backs of his eyes. He barely got to Skype his parents and brother, if at all, so seeing his papas face for the first time in months was indescribably amazing.

Brice ran and hand up and down his back, in soothing strokes, feeling a slight dampness on his shoulder.

"Missed you too, Spud. Jesus, I've missed my boy." he whispered, rocking them both side to side, Lorcan eventually pulling back once he'd composed himself, wobbly grin still marring his features.

"How's dad? And Roo, and Adam and Ty and Mitch a-and.." he began, babbling away as Brice laughed, hooking an arm around his shoulders and effectively shutting him up, leading him to the car, taking one of his suitcases from him.

"Everyone's good. Colin misses you like crazy, as did your dad and brother, and you might be a little mobbed when you get back. The twins don't get back for another week, and Levi's been moping since the first of December." Brice chuckled, sliding into the drivers seat and starting the engine, driving out of the car park and towards home. Lorcan's belly fluttered at the mention of Levi, and he fought a grin as the car drove along.
