I'm almost at 1k reads. Thank You guys so much! (Sorry for not updating recently. I'm always busy. But I'm gonna try to update at least every other day.) and YAY. This book is officially done with the backstory and now it will be written in present tense. (Still based on real events lol)
~~~~I can't believe that it's finally summer! I also can't believe that I'm gonna be in 8th grade. Sarah and Darby are going to be Sophomores in high school along with Lucas.
Im sitting in the car, on the way to Sarah's fourth if July party that she always has.
Im staring at the clouds. I can never get over how beautiful they are. In most songs, they say that they want the sky to be clear and that they want the clouds to go away. But it's the opposite for me. Whenever the sky is completely clear, it just doesn't feel right. I love having clouds to look at.
My mom parks the car in the drive way, and I walk toward the back yard. As I am walking , we stop at the side of the house when Sarah, Lucas, and my sister Darby come to greet me. Darby went there earlier to help set up.
Darby and Sarah hug me, and then pull away.
"Hey it's my favorite younger person," says Lucas.
I just giggle.
"Well favorite person that's younger than me," he adds.
He scratches the back of his head.
"You know what I mean."
I chuckle, and then we walk to the backyard.
~~~
(Guys no joke that last part actually happened😂)
~~~Does he actually feel that way.
I am really happy about what he said, but at the same time it kind of hurt at the same time. I mean I am really happy about what he said because I actually thought that he thinks nothing of me. But does he really feel like I'm just someone that's younger than him?
~~~
Its about 8:00 at night and we are still at Sarah's house.
Im sitting on Sarah's bed next to Lucas and we are watching Sarah and Darby play video games.
They are playing Grand Theft Auto. Sarah is pretty good, but when it's Darby's turn to play, she is pretty bad. She can't drive and can hardly even walk without walking into a tree. I guess video games just aren't her thing.
"You keep driving into trees" I say to Darby as I laugh.
"Shut up," she laughs, "I'd like to see you try."
"Yeah let's see how Maya plays" Lucas says as he elbows me.
"Fine I will." I say pretty confidently.
Sarah and Darby move to the back so that Lucas and I can sit toward the front of the bed.
I start to play, and I'm pretty good. I complete a mission in the game.
"Nice!" Says Lucas.
He holds up his hand for a high five. I high five him and continue to play."Oh shut up," says Darby, laughing.
~~~
I walk outside, followed by Lucas. Sarah and Darby stay inside to play video games.
I sit down at the table of people next to Lucas.
"Hey I think we're gonna leave soon," says my mom.
"Ok."
"You should sing a song for us before we leave," My mom says.
"Bleh do I have to?" I complain.
"Please," my mom begs.
Sarah mother never got to hear me sing.
"Ugh fine!" I say.
I really like the song that Missy sang for the talent show, so I decide to sing that one. It's called "Eyes Wide Open."
"YAY!" Everyone says.
I start to sing the song.
"Everbody loves to tell me," I sing.
I look over at Lucas as I sing the next part, "I was born an old soul"
He looks back at me.
"Better keeps my eyes wide open," I sing.
I look away because we were looking at each other for too long.
I look at the ground. "There's so much that I don't know," I sing
