POV: The one who can't forget
"Ooh look who finally decided to show..." Kori teased. The one who's looks caught every guys attention. It was two weeks since the incident. Everyone is still grieving and the atmosphere is not like it used to be. I slightly smiled and looked towards the end of the hallway. Locker 162. That was hers. It's now empty and I get an eerie feeling every time I walk by.
"Alli, it's over. Just stop acting like that before people get suspicious." Kori looked around, making sure no one heard her. I couldn't just forget. She was my best friend! We've known each other ever since grade school. I felt my eyes start to water. Kori sighed and closed her locker. I walked away. How could she act like this? I know it's been two weeks, but that was our friend.
I walked into the restroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I looked horrible. My hair wasn't fixed, and my sense of style decided to fly out the window. I'm feeling terrible. I need her back. A tear fell, and I wiped it away quickly. As I heard a few footsteps, I rushed into one of the stalls.
"I heard Jace tried to commit suicide." One girl spoke.
"Probably because he's the one who kil-" my phone started to go off. Shit! I quickly opened it, and it was a text from an unknown number.
'The field, The blood, the tears you cried. Six were there, but one has died.' It read.
What? Who's this? I looked at the text for a moment trying to process what I just read. Is this some kind of joke? I'm grieving and someone is sending poetry about my friend's death! I got a piece of tissue and wiped another tear that has fallen.
Putting my phone in my pocket, and walking out of the stall. The two girls were now gone and the bell has rung moments ago. I'm not really up for going to class today. Neither will I be tomorrow, or the day after that.
I glanced at the mirror once more and at the corner of my eye, I saw a figure. Very skinny, about 5'2 and long brown hair. It reminded me of.. "Brittany?! Brittany?! Is that you?!" I turned around and saw nothing. Really? Now I'm seeing her ghost?
My phone buzzed again and I pulled it out of my pocket, starting to walk towards the exit.
"A smile so wide, Brown hair, bright eyes.
It disappeared. All that's left, are lies.
What wou-" someone finished.
"-ld you do if I were to tell? Come clean, yourself? Or burn in hell..." Jade read from her phone.
"I knew I'd find you here." She stepped closer to me. I could sense nervousness in her voice. It was shaky and we were both shocked by the text message.
"Did you get the one that talked about the field and the bl...bl..." I couldn't finish. Even if I mention anything about blood, my stomach will start to turn. She nodded and hugged me, starting to break down.
"I just, I just miss her so much" she managed to say through her continuous crying. I patted her back, trying to calm her. Avoiding breaking down myself. "We all do." I agreed.
After awhile we left the bathroom. A guy was quickly walking away. Oh no! Was he, eavesdropping perhaps? Or maybe he was just skipping? I doubt that, I know who that is. He's a good guy, he doesn't skip and he's very determined. I just wonder if he heard us. Hopefully not. We don't need anyone suspecting anything of us.
We walked to class and I sat in the back for the first time. Usually I'd sit in the front, but that's where Brittany and I would sit. I needed to change that or I'd be too distracted, thinking about her. I barely payed attention to today's lesson, and I kept thinking of those text. Who sent those? Was this real, or just a joke?
