POV: The one who cried
Everyone else seemed to have moved on so fast. I feel like I'm the only one still grieving. Guys aren't suppose to cry, does that make me less of one?
I have been missing practices, and I'm probably going to get kicked off the team soon. It feels like my life couldn't get any worst. I lost a best friend, I'm not focused anymore. I don't know how to feel.
Louis wanted me to come over and help him setup for the party, but I'm not sure if I'm even going to show. People are spreading rumors about Brittany's death and putting the blame on different people. I got the stupid key and now I can get the money. I'm not even sure if I want it anymore.
I decided to go anyway. It was me, Louis and Kori. Allison had to watch her baby and Jade was a no show. We used to all hang out together, but now everything is falling apart.
"What do you need me to do?" I asked, looking at Louis.
"Uh. Just go get some more drinks." He started setting up the snacks. I nodded and went to the car. I drove to the store and started grabbing a variety of drinks. I walked to the cash register and handed her my fake ID. She eyed me and kept looking back and forth at me, then the ID. I started to get nervous.
"Matthew Withaspoon?" She asked. I nodded. It was suppose to be 'Witherspoon' but the guy was an idiot and couldn't hear! Nor spell.
Sadly, I didn't get away and the cops were called. They took me to the station and tried contracting my parents.
"What's your real name, pal?" Mr....Sczhisor asked.
"Jace. Jace Matthews."
"Do you by any chance, go to Wilfred High?" He asked.
"Yes, Mr. s-" I got stuck.
"Just call me John"
"Ok."
"Do you know anything about the deaths of Brittany and Fabian?" He asked.
I gulped. "U-um".
"Um?" He got suspicious. "Did you have anything to do with it? Do you know anything we don't?!" He continued.
"Um."
"Hey! You can't question my son about their deaths! We're here about the fake ID." My mother stormed in just in time. Thank you.
"You're right, Mrs. Matthews"
"Miss."
"Miss Matthews. My apologies."
I got up and they continued to talk about the ID situation before they let me go with a warning.
"You can't be doing stuff like this! If I didn't come any sooner, you'd probably be charged as a murderer!" She nagged.
"I understand mom." I sighed.
"Where's your car?"
"I had to leave it at the store"
"Yeah, about that. What were you doing buying alcoholic beverages?"
"It was for a party, sorry."
"Well, you can forget about that party. It will probably get crashed by the police anyway. I'm doing this for your benefit"
"Ok mom" I didn't argue because I was ok with it. I'll just tell Louis I was grounded.
"I'll have your uncle pick up your car later, but for now we're about to get you home sweetie." Why is she talking to me like I'm a baby? Huh. Whatever. I'm just glad I'm not in major trouble and I got out of that party.
