Chapter 1: It All Starts In Middle School

"Race ya to class?" Gilbert asked his Danish friend Mathias. "...hell yes." The two 14 year olds began to run down the hallway laughing and yelling who would win.

The German and Dane were about halfway through the hall when a girl with long blonde hair, deep blue eyes, a blue hoodie, black jeans, red converse, and a golden cross hair clip came around the corner. The girl caught Mathias's attention. His light blue eyes followed the girl down the hallway.

Mathias tripped over his own foot and landed face first into the tile floor. Gilbert stopped and looked at Mathias. "Wow. Idiot." Mathias pointed to the girl. "Who...is she...?" Gilbert looked at the girl. "Oh that's Lucy Bondevik. She's new here." Mathias smiled. "Do you think I have a chance with her?" Gilbert laughed. "What?" "Have fun trying to get her! She hates just about anyone. Come on let's go to class." He said, dragging Mathias down the hall.

Mathias walked into his class to see Lucy sitting next to an empty seat. Lucky for him only two people sat at a table. He quickly shuffled to the empty seat and sat down. Lucy looked over to him with a slight glare. "Aren't you the kid who fell on his face the other day..." Mathias nodded with a smile. "Yes I am! Thank you for noticing!" Lucy rolled her eyes and looked up to the front of the class.

"Where you're sitting now, is your permanent seats from now on." The teacher announced with a smile. Today just got better. Lucy sighs. Mathias took out an index card and wrote on it. He pushed it over to Lucy. Lucy looks down at it and writes on it and shoved it back to Mathias.

'My name's Mathias by the way'

'I don't care. Shut up. You're annoying.'

Mathias leaned back in his chair. He knew this was going to take years...
